Very good restaurant with good prices and service. Highly recommend!

Location and food - Citrus got both right! Our group sat on the 2nd floor next to the window with beautiful views of the street with high-end shops. Just before us were the famous Gaudi's brilliantly designed streetlights. Very clean restaurant. Food was spot on. There were several tapas which were presented - salad, calamari, squid, croquettes and Huevos Rotos. The olive oil on the table was delicious. I ordered the fish entree, which was baked hake with lime and tomato puree with basil and potatoes. It was delicious. Star dish of the night was the Catalan Creme Brulee. I desist creme brulee, but this one was outstanding.
The only reason I've not given Citrus 5 star rating is because - I asked the server if the fish served had bones in it. He said no, it's boneless (it wasn't!). Maybe it's all the previous dining experiences in Spain, that I was careful while eating and yes, there were bones in it. Other than this, the service was good.

Food good, setting is pleasant, but staff has quite off-putting attitude (maybe a Spanish thing). Wait staff went thru motions of seating/taking orders/etc but never smiled or helped us get comfortable, never asked how our food was, charged us per glass price when we ordered full two bottles of Cava, got two dishes wrong when delivered to table and took 15 mins to get corrected order plated. Cava very good, Monkfish Soup was quite good albeit thin, salads were large and filled with fresh berries, entree portions adequate, desserts (violet ice cream & red berry foam/Belgium chocolate square) were a highlight. Again, food good, staff needs refresher on how to be nice to foreigners.

We got seated right away and got our beverages. They were out of a lot of items and it was very early in the night still. The food was okay....but nothing out of this world. The view was nice and the servers were attentive.

Stellar! Incredible hospitality, excellent food, and wonderful wine selection. I had a duck breast dish that was perfect!! Must come back, and hope these guys will still be there next trip.

On our last night in Barcelona, we dined here for dinner. Sat on the 2nd floor overlooking the busy street downstairs!
(1) Fried artichoke hearts for appetizer
(2) Calamari for appetizer
(3) Salad for 1st course
(4) Fish was my choice for main entree
(5) Veal was my husband's choice for main entree
(6) creme brulee for dessert!
We enjoyed house White & red wine with our meal!

We had passed by this place on Saturday night and it looked very inviting. It is well lit and sits up high overlooking Passeig de Gracias. We actually chose a different restaurant for Sunday night dinner but they were closed. So we ended up here at Citrus.
Bad decision. Out of the 10 nights we were in Spain & France, this was our worst meal. There was nothing that stood out about our meals. Everything was flat and mediocre. Including the indifferent service.
Definitely a tourist trap! Much better options with a little research.

We were recently in Barcelona and Citrus was our favorite restaurant. We were there only 5 days and dined at Citrus twice we loved it so much. I had the most succulent and fresh fish there, prepared so perfectly and served over a bed of puréed potatoes that were to die for. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted wonderful! Service was great, wines were wonderful too. I highly recommend Citrus. I want to go back to Barcelona just to eat there again!

Great quality, good price. Very clean and sophisticated. Nadia, the waitress was awesome! My wife and I enjoyed the experience very much!

Not the best place for dinner in Barcelona. The interior and views of the street are probably the nicest part of the place. Service was a tad slow. Servers not attentive in the least. The food itself was nothing to talk about. I had the prawn salad which was a weird taste combo (really didn't like it) and the cod entree (the fish was chewy, not flakey at all). Wouldn't bother going back in the future.

This restaurant was a recommendation from our hotel for good Mediterranean food and is located in a central area of L'Eiample (which was one of my favorite areas of Barcelona filled with lots to attractions and high-end shopping). It was described to us as a place with sophistication and impeccable food. Overall, we were very happy we went with our hotel's recommendation,
It's on an upper level which allows for guests to overlook the city, which to me is always nice for added ambiance. It's also an ideal place to take a date as the vibe of the restaurant is warm and intimate.
The service was up to par and you can tell they are there to make sure your dining experience is perfect.
We decided to go all out and try a little of everything including starting off with a pitcher of sangria (which was good but not remarkably memorable in any way) along with appetizers (including paella, which wasn't the best we had in Barcelona in which I recommend hitting up the little places for that), entrees, and dessert.
All the seafood we ordered was heavenly, I mean truly unique and delicious. Our dessert wasn't anything exceptional, but still worth trying (we went with the "Belgian Chocolate" which I guess was a generic choice on our part but usually chocolate is always a classic choice that doesn't disappoint).
The dining experience, ambiance, along with amazing selection of food (at reasonable prices) makes this restaurant a great choice for someone looking for a hint of "sophistication" in Barcelona, as the hotel brilliantly described this place.

From the fancy white table cloths, to the well dressed servers, to the long wait, I expected to receive great service and taste something gastronomically amazing and full of flavor. That was not the case.
We were a party of 4. After waiting 30 minutes, we were told our table was ready and we were allowed to go upstairs. Only to wait another 15 minutes on a bench. Finally we were sat at our table, only to wait another 15 minutes to receive menus. We ordered water and wine, they brought the wine and let it sit on our table for another 15 minutes unopened. When the waitress returned she asked us if we were ready to order. I told her nicely we have been waiting a long time and if she can please open the bottle of wine. Instead, she started letting me know that they were really busy and that there were other people in the restaurant. I don't know if it was a language barrier but I speak fluent Spanish and this conversation happened in Spanish. I didn't want to argue so I just let her say what she needed to say. Instead of opening the bottle of wine, she starts to force us to make our order and starts typing it in on her little handheld gadget, as the bottle still sat on our table unopened. She leaves and returns after 10 more minutes and finally opens the wine. I don't know who trained this staff, I wish they would have just given me the bottle opener, we would have already been on our second bottle.
To start, we each ordered a salad, two got the house salad, one a spring roll salad dish, and I got the tomato salad with tuna on top. House salads looked like American house salads you would get at an ordinary diner, the spring roll had no flavor, but my tomato salad was delicious. The tomatoes was fresh, but had it not been for the tomatoes, the dish was uneventful.
For our main entrees, we ordered the hamburger, filet, veal, and steak tartare. Each of us had a taste of each others plates. The only thing that was good was the filet, which was tender and perfectly cooked. The hamburger patty was dry, the veal was dry, and my steak tartare was flavorless, under seasoned, and looked like the hamburger patty before it was cooked. We all got french fries, the fries were not bad.
I must say the whole night was not wasted, thanks to the 3 bottles of wine and the great company.
We had such amazing dining experiences in Barcelona, I didn't think you could get forgettable, under seasoned, and uneventful food in this city. Well, I was wrong. If you want to wait a long time with bad service and bland, lackluster food, this is the place. I suggest finding a hole in the wall with character and spirit, you'll get better food and service.

Five stars, six people
Endless plates and full bellies
Zero bad dishes
Order everything!
Maybe a tourist spot, but
good food is good food.

I liked this place, the menu is huge and in about 7 languages, clearly for tourists, but its been around for about 20 years so...The location is in a tourist area and the views from the second floor are very nice. My service was very good and the food tasty as well so if you are in the area you will get a nice meal. I ate the sea bass and it was perfectly cooked, we tried a variety of appetizers...fried artichokes, croquettes, the tomato salad (the green tomatoes, I forget the name). All good stuff.

CBeautiful looking place right one the corner of a great area. With so many waiters the service is average and just like the service so was the food.
Iain W.
Dropped in with family by chance for lunch. Great service from friendly and helpful waitress. Menu was varied with fine dinning dishes. The complementary glass of champagne was a nice touch and they used a very good champagne as well.

Our chef friend visited us and we wanted to take her out to a nice restaurant. We were sorely disappointed.
Rude service, bad wine, awful food, and high prices. The server spilled the wine on our table without so much as a second glance. We ordered a few starters and after tasting the overcooked and uninspired food we left.
Despite its nice appearance, this is a restaurant to avoid.
David D.
I gave it a one star but not worthy...
I can't remember eating at such an over priced facade... Service Bad! Food Bad!! Shocking!!
Understaffed? Training? Looks like a great place! Truly let down!! How does Barcelona support? Is it just tourist??
Marcel J.
No reservation needed, the actual restaurant is on the 2nd floor and gives you a good view of the street. (if you are not seated behind a wall).
Portions were normal food was reasonable. The waiters were helpfull but they forgot us. There was no handover when the new waiters arrived.
Food was not warm enough.
I did expect a little more from this restaurant.
Matthew S.
Touristy, but good touristy. The second-floor dining room looks out over the Passeig de Gràcia, right across from the Gaudí building, Casa Batlló. It's reasonably formal (linens, jackets), but tourists are welcome as they are. We spent our time people watching on the street below to guess who were tourists (Americans are SO easy to spot) and who were locals.
The food was excellent and service, too. Moderately expensive, but exactly what you would expect from a restaurant in this location. Dollars go so much farther these days, so it really was quite reasonable.
Definitely recommend it.
Wayne S.
Very mediocre. Food not hot and some items over cooked. Not busy on a Friday night so no excuse there. A lot better places to go for sure.
