Never ever go there. The food was not good and too expensive for what you get. The fried stuff had the taste of old fat. The waiter was not nice and aggressive. We're vegetarians and had fried artichokes at the end we found a leg of a shrimp in the artichokes. We told the waiter and he said yeah it's a leg of a shrimp and threw it on the table. I have no idea why. We didn't want to pay for the plate with the artichokes but he said he couldn't do anything about it that it's normal in the kitchen when you cut stuff that everything is flying around and that we ate the whole plate and told him at the end. Well we found it at the end, I'm glad that I didn't eat it.
So we had to pay for everything plus tip of 10 % which is already included in the paycheck. In the bathroom we found a dead cockroach.

By far the best paella in town. No. exaggeration. My friend took me there. It's in a quiet back ally ways and a little away from the busy Las Ramblas which we were looking to get away. Service was good and friendly staffs especially Moinul, our waiter. I have tried paella in Plasa Rial in a nice fancy restaurant the day before and can see what a difference in tastes and presentation. I'll recommend it.

Very comfortable, great prizes, great food. It was the only place I went to twice while in Barcelona. Just a great "locals" type of place.

Good food and service - wide menu, good for kids

This restaurant is outside hotel barcelo where we are staying, so it became our local restaurant, had Tapas (great deal on for 7 Tapas & beer) paella, beer & mojitos here, staff very friendly & welcoming, Arif & his fellow waiters were superb, had a chat with them all daily. Food excellent, highly recommend eating here, even met & spoke to the owner, a very nice man, who should be very proud of all of his staff inside (chef etc) & outside. Thank you all, you added to our holiday meeting you all :)

Exists only to take money from tourists.
Sangria: meh
Bread with tomato: Cheap bread, tasteless sauce.
Olives: Not as good as Kroger brand olives in the US.
Mushrooms: Like Kroger brand canned mushrooms, just heated up.
Calamari: Breading was so greasy I couldn't eat it.
After paying the check, walking away we saw a sign for a "special" that would have given us what we ordered but at a lower price. The waiter off course did not mention that the special was available.
2 stars is maybe too high for this place.

This place was really awful. The guacamole was terrible and they refused to let me send it back, even after ADMITTING that it wasn't fresh. My dad also ordered cheese cake and it was ridiculously tiny.
The waiters were nice but were not attentive at all and I had to get up to get my own menu (it's a seated venue). They also own the pizzeria next store and are clearly trying to do too much and failing. I agree with another post that I saw that said it exists to rip off tourists.

I went to this simple restaurant because of the innovative menu and it was in front of my hotel. I was surprise of the good quality of the food.
The salmon with a rose berry sauce was very tasty and the vegetables very well cooked as a true good cuisine. Its a way to eat other dish than the tapas and fried food. The waiters were original, shouting the orders through the street. I was amuse by they're routine.
I'm french and i guess who have to be a little patient to have a better meal.

Did not like the servers, It took for ever and the servers were not friendly. The food was the same as the servers. So I would not recommend people to go to this place. And they also charge more if you want to sit outside on the terrace

Of all the wonderful choices you have in Barcelona, I would not recommend this place. We got the 7 tapas+2 drinks for $26euro combo, but the tapas were definitely not worth the price. They pick the tapas for you and they were subpar in taste. The best was probably the poblano peppers which were drowned in oil. While the tapas were a hard no, the paella was mediocre. You could tell that the veggies in the paella were from a frozen package but the broth was flavorful and the redeeming quality of this dish. Overall, I would not recommend spending your money here but if you happen to pass by and are starving like we were, I would get the paellas and skip the tapas.

Avoid this restaurant. Not only is it a mediocre 'culinary' trap as other reviews have suggested but it is a health crisis with tables. I ate a paella with vegetables that put me in debilitating gastrointestinal distress for four days. I don't know what the secret ingredient was that did the job but it ranked pretty high among, shall I say, life's fluid horrors. The one star is a built in necessity and also reflects that I am just thankful that my co-diners were not similarly poisoned by their meals, the second worst issue being a dislike of a pasta dish (uninspired red sauce most likely from an unseasoned box of tomate frito). Again, this place is so not worth the meal and the potential illness to follow. We only went there because a music event was happening nearby and, sadly, I hadn't done a quick consult of Yelp. Yes, I like adventure and would rather not be glued to a mobile for every decision but this adventure kept playing out for four feverish days and nights.

Predicted it was horrible and it really was so bad! The chips were stale and the calamari was soft! AIso, the service was terrible! Very rude and arrogant!

Got pulled in by the waitstaff with the menu outside. Little worried the food would be terrible because the restaurant was empty, but all in all it was an average experience. The pizza was mediocre, the vegetable paella was good, and we enjoyed the sangria. It costs more to eat outside--which we didnt know, and the waitstaff disappeared after we received our food.

do yourself a favor and go to any of the other restaurants in the square. This one is a rip off from their "menu del dia" to the horrible service.
the artichoke risotto with actually pretty good. That was the first course. The sangria was so awful I could barely drink its, in fact after few sips just gave up trying. The second course, which I paid extra for, was a steak. It was about 80% fat and was way over cooked. I could have eaten my shoe and gotten a better texture and cut of meat.
The waiter then disappeared. I literally could have got up, walked away from my table, and been back to my hotel before he even realized I was gone. Both myself and the other table finally had to go in after about 45 minutes of waiting for him to get the bill. While it is practice in Spain to ask for the check and not automatically receive it, it is not general practice for your server to just disappear. Noone did not and charged an enormous amount for the pleasure of bringing you and include beverages. This one did not and charged an enormous amount for the pleasure of bringing you and undrinkable glass of sangria or wine. Overall, I wish I had gone to one of the other places in the square and really hope that you don't make the same mistake I do. This restaurant is also affiliated with the Turkish restaurant and the pizzeria restaurant that are next door to that money either side. Basically, just skip the whole block.

Absolutely horrendous. Do not eat here. Only the most unfortunate of circumstances led to us eating here and as we could have predicted, it was horrible. The food was somewhere in between "very bad" and "this might give me food poisoning".

Worst Tapas I've ever eaten. Do yourself a favour, don't go there. Don't take the pica pica! VERY BAD FOOD! The best thing was the cold Estrella Beer, the rest was crap!
If I could, I would give this restaurant zero stars.
