My colleague lives in the area and invited me for a drink and I had never heard of the spot. It was chill around happy hour, kinda empty. Classic dive bar. The beer was cold. By the second drink the place started to fill and it seemed like the male/female ratio was very lopsided to the female persuasion and at first I was like “cool”, and then I reeeally took it all in and started to wonder if I was at a gay bar (which is still totally cool). Maybe it was the vendor selling “Dyke” merchandise, or the fact that for once I was able to enjoy a drink without being bothered by strangers or crowded by yuppies. Either way the atmosphere was conducive to minding my own business and having a good time. The outdoor area is great. The upstairs had vendors with various art and wares they made. I have since learned that the event was actually “Dew Drop’s Dyke Party”. I would gladly come to another Tuesday “Dyke Party” if it’s always so chill (albeit not very diverse). The downstairs also had a bar and around 8 there was Christmas-themed live music of the R&B/Soul/Jazz persuasion. This crowd was substantially more eclectic and in my subjective views couldn’t be categorized as homogenous. Free live music in DC is unheard of so I was extremely gracious. My only complaint is that this is a dive in the heart of the dmv that doesn’t serve National Bohemian. But I have since learned that they allow dogs so I won’t hold it against them.

Love this place. Haven't been here in a while but came for the holiday market event and will definitely be back more often. Had a great time every time, but especially this last visit. Shout out to Dom for not only selling some sick art but organizing the event as well.

Amazing, cozy little place on the Metropolitan Bike Trail where 90% of the seating is outdoors. Fair prices and food supplied by a food truck. Definitely a great place to visit during 3 seasons of the year.

Very nice outdoor patio. Good for casual meet and greets or first dates since it has a good mix of music areas and conversation spots. Slushy drinks are overly sweet, but still tasty if you're ready for it.

Classic divey spot, has plenty of outdoor seating. Great place to catch up with friends on a spring or summer evening. Pet friendly!

Drinks are reasonably priced and the bar staff are wonderful. The vibes are very divey which is super cool. I have not tried the food from the bar, but there was a food truck, and there's a liberal outside food policy if you want to order something else delivered or bring your own. The trivia on Mondays is abysmal; the categories and questions are either too niche or nonsensical and the host has no sense of timekeeping. I'm pretty sure it's run by the bar itself, but seriously guys, you should reach out to one of the local trivia companies to run it because it was grating to play.

An old bar in the neighbourhood and has just the vibes for every atmosphere- outdoors, indoors with live mic and then the top floor for just dance and party. Love the ambience and vibe of this place Do try out the beer and shot combo!

the bartenders are so incredibly kind, very LGBTQ+ friendly staff and clientele, plenty of fun events, and they allow dogs inside! Jon approves.

It felt like lil Africa and Caribbean met in the middle and blast off! I loved it. Cool vibes all night: no ghetto just pure love from all black people.

Great little spot in the Brookland area of Washington DC. I didn't partake in the food options as I had already eaten. Good music, nice crowd. Lots of fun. I will definitely be back.
