Shaw's Tavern

I hosted my birthday party at Shaw's Tavern and absolutely loved it. I really recommend hosting your event here - their communications was super easy and straightforward. We had the entire upstairs floor to ourselves and I was easily able to hook up my own music to their sound system. We had so much fun!

I went to Shaw's Tavern to celebrate a friend's birthday brunch, and it was an exceptional experience! The staff was incredibly accommodating, ensuring our celebration went off without a hitch. The brunch menu had something for everyone, from classic favorites to inventive dishes. The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented. The highlight was the atmosphere – lively and inviting. We had a blast, and our server made sure the birthday girl felt extra special. Mimosas flowed, laughter filled the air, and it was the perfect setting for a memorable celebration. My friend and I just finished our finals. The food was delicious with great service and a nice atmosphere. We ordered the herb Atlantic salmon with rice. The sauce and the rice were delicious. I also ordered the hibiscus house margarita. So good! I’m new to DC so it’s been quite a surprise to see that most restaurants don’t open until 5pm around here. Thanks to Shaw’s Tavern, I didn’t starve this afternoon. 😄

Look, imma keep it 1000%, I have NEVER left a review for ANY establishment ever, but I HAD TO for Shaw’s Tavern. I’m from The Bronx, NY & my lady and I spent the weekend in DC for a basketball game and Brunch Vibes. The original place we went to was a long wait. Shaw’s has plenty of space and the food is IMPECCABLE. I had the biscuits and sausage gravy and my lady had the cajun shrimp and grits. EXTREMELY flavorful and a generous portion…..not to mention BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS for $20/person. We WILL be back VERY soon. The only negative I have about the place, which is not really their fault, is the parking. It’s mostly area permit parking, but there are some side streets that are metered. We went on a Sunday btw. Good place to watch a World Cup game. We were in town and looking for a place for my son to watch the Argentina game (by the way, it was a great game going into a OT and then a kick-off). My son had the grilled chicken wings, which were good and crispy. I had the country fried steak, which was cooked well. The only thing I could say about the meal was the biscuit was a bit dry, and what I mean is that when you broke it in half, it crumbled like a cracker, it was ok because I got my eggs cooked over medium so I just scooped it up with the egg yolk. We also had the chicken and waffles. The meals were good we just wish they had come out a little hotter. The service we had was really good, I didn't get the man's name, but he was on point with our drinks and food and always asking if we needed anything. Menus are viewed via app, and payment for meals is via app as well.
