Delicious food at an amazingly reasonable price for DC dining. Interesting concept of stations. You are given a payment card as you enter, then you swipe it at each location you pick up food or drink - be that the bar, the pasta station, the appetizer station, the pizza station, or the salad station. On the plus side, this concept is great for large parties. No more splitting the check 15 ways. The drawback is that you wait in a massive line to get one aspect of your meal if you order pasta because they make each item to order and it takes awhile. We literally stood in the pasta line for 30 minutes. And people in our party who ordered pizza or apps were finished eating by the time we got back with our food. Forget about getting an alcoholic drink if you are dining alone - you'll either finish your drink while standing in line for your food or you'll have to leave your food on a table alone while you go back for your drink. The pizza station gave out buzzers so you could go back up when your pizza is ready. I really think all stations should do this. That being said, our food was so darn good, it was worth the wait!

Great Italian food , suits to all palette. Best part is you can customize your pasta and salad. Only downside is that you have to wait in line to order which might take sometime during peak hours but totally worth! I have been here for 3 consecutive days for dinner and I have no complain. 4 star as I have to wait too long today ... may be they are understaff today due to Labor Day weekend! Cheers!

Great food and great experience! It was My first time at a Vapiano and I loved it. It’s a great place to have lunch with friends or alone! The flexibility of the chefs to cater to specific ingredients/diet was refreshing! Meal options was vast but I think great so everyone can enjoy that the one! I’m definitely going to a Vapiano again and I will have to try their pizza next time.

Definitely a culinary experience at a good price! I got the Reef N Beef and the chefs definitely cater to your tastes, asking if you like "garlic, spicy, etc." It's really incredible watching your food made in front of you with the fresh pasta and ingredients. The portion size was pretty good which was surprising. You'll definitely walk away very full or with a second meal to take home. All in all a great restaurant, I can't wait to try their other dishes.

Surprisingly good experience but with no direction for first time visitors, I looked like a deer in headlights walking around. You get a personal chef who creates your dish in front of you in a short period of time so it's convenient for lunch. My meal was well worth the short term confusion. I'll be back!

My first time. It's a unique dining experience which I thoroughly enjoyed. My friend created his own pasta while I order the shrimp pesto with campanelle. I added salmon, garlic, and hot spices. It was so delicious I couldn't stop eating! I completely derailed ketosis and it was absolutely worth it. I love the card system. Receiving a card at arrival using at the different food stations to track purchases allows freedom to roam and is great for groups.
