I experienced my first true paella alla Valenciana here! This restaurant, out in the country, is amazing. The flavors in this dish complemented each other perfectly. I eagerly scraped the the bottom of the pan to get the "burnt" rice (it's not really burnt, but caramelized from cooking over the fire).
I couldn't tell you what we ordered for appetizers, but everything was delicious!
For dessert, we finished with the Arnadi (de nuestros origenes arabes: calabaza asada, boniato y almendras). This almond dessert was heaven! Made with roasted pumpkin, sweet potato & almonds, this dessert will surely please your taste buds!
Service was great! I definitely recommend that when in Valencia, you eat paella here!
Paella originated in Valencia, so we knew when we were in the area that's what we just HAD to have!
We searched out one of the highest recommended places a little off the beaten path so parking would be easy to find outside of the main city since we were starving and didn't want to waste ANY time!!
We originally drove right passed the cute A-frame converted house. I'm not sure if the listing is off a hair or not, but if you too miss it, it's on the left hand side heading towards the beach. If you hit the gas station you went too far.
Like I said, we were starving so we started immediately with patatas, which were super good! The best we had in all of Spain, and we ate our fair share! Little did we know they were actually so unnecessary as an app because of how hearty a portion the paella was!
The paella is priced and prepared per person. We ordered for two for me and my two littles, and that was still WAY too much!! (Order less here unless you intend on eating leftovers for days!)
The paella was unreal!! I'm so sad I fear I will never ever have it this good again!! It came piping hot in a huge skillet. It was full of flavor, moist with broth and packed with veggies! I'm honestly salivating thinking about it right now! It was absolutely incredible! 5 Star no doubt!
They had many varieties to chose from as well as other delectable dishes, but I would hate to see someone come here and not taste their paella!
They also have traditional and fusion desserts, none of which we had room for and great wine list which was vast and filled with many locally grown reds, which would go perfectly with the paella.
We thought the prices were overall super reasonable, but I didn't like that the bread basket, which was not good, and which we assumed was complimentary because it was given without asking for it showed up on our bill. Granted it was only €2.50, but we didn't ask for it. We didn't want it. We barely ate it. I can't help but feel that move is a super shady. I didn't like it. It has nothing to do with money and everything to do with me making my own decision to throw my money away on my own terms. And we were already paying 2.50 for a carafe of two water. Lame. This is the reason I'm knocking off a star!
The service was just fine, although she was so beautiful I found myself staring. I chalked the lack of hospitality up to the language barrier. A lot of pointing despite me knowing a decent amount of Spanish.
The place was lovely and quaint and had a very homey, authentic feeling to it.
There's some street parking, but they do have a lot to the left that can hold a few cars and bikes.
The restaurant is in a old charming farm(?) house converted to a restaurant. There is a patio also. It was easy to find via google and a short drive from Valencia.
Although we arrived really early, they allowed us to come back at 12:30, although they open at 1PM. It was very nice of them since they had limited seating, even turned away come customers who walked in. Reservations were probably required and again, they were very nice to seat the 3 of us.
As for the paella, since the pan were for two servings, we had to settle for one order of the original paella valenciana. It was a very delicious paella, worth coming here for. Now I have a standard to measure all other paella's.
Reserva imprescindible. Trabajan a turnos y aunque llegamos pronto, no pudimos sentarnos antes.

Buenismo precio calidad genial.
