We are always chasing a traditional experience when we travel and oh my we have found an incredible place just a short journey out of San seb (15euro taxi) it’s a fantastic cider house with incredible staff. It is family run and has been part of this family for four generations. The food is an absolute delight and the steak is the best I’ve ever had. Fantastic
We had an amazing afternoon eating lunch and drinking fresh cider directly out of the barrel at Gartziategi Sagardotegia. The fix menu was delicious, every course, and drinking out of the barrel was a special experience. Listen for the employees yelling "Charge" and follow them to one of the three rooms with floor to ceiling barrels to see which barrel they're pouring from this round. Take just enough cider each time for one sip, but don't worry, you'll be lining up again soon enough. Highly recommend taking the short trip out of San Sebastian for this visit, also recommend going for lunch when it isn't as crowded.
