Al Alagha

We were exploring Paramatta for the day (April 2018) and craving Lebanese. Al Agha was worth the trek from the more well-known Eat St, and the climb up the stairs (one of us had wonky knees). Located on deserted Philip Street (it was Sunday noon), Al Agha’s signage was so discreet (a single stylised cherry red fez), and its entrance quite tucked away, that at first glance, I thought the restaurant had been replaced by a gaming shop. What I liked: the crunchy fried flat bread was served on the side so no soggy bread in the fatoush; the baba ganoush was served at room temperature so we could taste its smokey creaminess, the fish was smothered in a generous blanket of spicy tahini sauce which meant the four of us could forget about being polite and happily tuck in. It was perfect over the rice with lentils. Overall, flavours were good, our waitress was attentive, and we had a lovely Sunday lunch.

Wow! Thought to try it out and was really amazed by the quality of the food and how clean this place is. Atmosphere is cheerful with arabic music, live singers and belly dancers. Friendly customer service. Food wise i recommend the dips, falafel, chicken and lamb kebab sticks. Simply divine. Would definitely come here again!
