At Xiquet, Danny Lledo personally greets you and you move between a couple of different spaces, which we really enjoyed! Chef Lledo was so unexpectedly kind and warm upon our reception, it felt like he was welcoming us into his home to join him for dinner. You can definitely tell he takes great pride in what he does and it comes through the food and experience. The staff and service were impressively good- for example, they overheard us discussing moving into a home we had just purchased and sent us a completely unexpected congratulatory dessert. If I’m being honest, while very good, Xiquet’s food wasn’t my most favorite. BUT the creativity, warmth and execution of the entire experience were so excellent that I wouldn’t think twice about going again. I would definitely recommend Xiquet to anyone wondering if they should give it a try!

It is clear this restaurant is trying hard for a second Michelin star. The food was divine and so creative. The pacing of dishes was a little slow, but the zero-alcohol wine pairing made up for it - I was so excited that was an option! I’ve never seen that offered anywhere else. I will be returning during the holiday season and I am eager for my next Xiquet experience.

The service, the food, the wine, and the presentation were all perfect starting from the second we arrived. We were greeted and taken upstairs but were presented with the first bite before we reached our table. Once seated each course took you on a journey, The staff did an exceptional job explaining each bite and wine pairing. It was a delightful experience. After dinner we went downstairs for dessert and a final beverage. This was one of the best meals I've ever had. Be prepared to spend some time there as this is not a short meal, exactly how it should be. I'm not sharing pics as it feels like I'd be sharing art without permission of the artist or venue. You can be confident that they do an excellent job bringing together the meal, the presentation, and the pairings.

Divine! A true gem in the heart of DC, Xiquet is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates exceptional food, impeccable service and an amazing dining experience that you will cherish forever. My brother and I dined here for a special occasion and the entire experience, from start to end, was an unforgettable culinary adventure. Every single dish bursts with Spanish flavors elevated to a whole new level. I love seafood and my favorite dishes were the oyster (the foam was the most delicious thing ever), prawn of Denia, and dill-cured blue fin tuna. This prawn was flown all the way from the Mediterranean waters between Valencia and Ibiza to make this dish and it is totally worth it! I never knew how good a prawn could taste before having this dish. Needless to say, every single dish had the highest quality ingredients paired with chef's creative recipes. I highly recommend going with the wine pairing as they have one of the best wine selection in town at a reasonable price. Upgrading the pairing to Vega Sicilia Unico is pricey but also, well worth it!

We had a beautiful anniversary dinner here. It was the perfect place for the occasion. From start to finish, the service, food, and wine was exceptional. Sophie - thank you for the warm welcome. Rafael and Justin, you were so kind to share so much of your wine knowledge with me and to entertain all of my many many questions. Igor, you presented each dish and paired wine beautifully. The meal was well curated, the paired wines delicious, the progression perfect. The squab - *chefs kiss*. Thank you for the wonderful evening!

A very nice restaurant for a unique and attentive experience. Chef Danny and team are warm and welcoming and have created a modern and cozy environment. The tasting menu is diverse and lightly adventurous. Of note is the rabbit, squash, and turbo were my favorites. For that special occasion or exciting experience this is a great destination.

The food was excellent. I tried a lot of foods I would not usually order, to push my tastes. The food was excellent. Honestly, the scallop was incredible. The flavors all worked together in such a way that made an almost perfect taste that almost had a texture on top of the actual texture. It tasted smooth, like the perfect olive oil. Not heavy, but a perfect bite of every element of flavor. The squash dish was probably my favorite. The flavor on that dish was so amazing. It does feel strange to rank a vegetable dish higher than the other amazing dishes, but it was so good would be rude to ignore its perfection. The chef also made a gluten free pastry crusty for one of the dishes. It was very good. The texture and flavor were as good as I imagine it's gluten counterpart would be. Every dish seemed very personal. That is what I look for in a chef. I want to know the story behind the food. Even things I was hesitant to try, had a complexity and a story. I'm sure this was a coincidence, but the leaves a I was waking, smelled like the sea. It was as if the meal was a part of my senses even when I left. To me what was the most special, was trying something new in almost every single dish. Something I had never had before. I left incredibly full. And satisfied.

I was lucky enough to snag a last minute reservation at Xiquet during an impromptu trip to DC and I was blow away! I’ve stopped in at Slate (the bar downstairs) a couple times for drinks and small plates and it is always fabulous but this was my first time doing the whole experience and it was beyond memorable. I love the concept of progression throughout the restaurant as part of the experience! Every dish was delicious and unique, and the knowledge of the staff really added to the experience. It’s hard to choose a favorite composition but I found the flavor and presentation of the white asparagus and caviar to be especially memorable. Our entire table raved about the paella and the wine pairings as well. I really enjoyed the touch of moving to the lounge for desserts and coffee/after dinner drinks with the chef. Overall One of the best meals and most memorable dining experiences I’ve had!

Can you give more than 5-stars?? Wow - my wife and I finally had a night out and we chose the right place. Every detail (and they pay attention to ALL of them) was so eloquent and tailored. The service is impeccable. The food divine. The wine pairing perfection. The atmosphere is like nowhere I’ve ever been. Danny feels more like a gracious host than a world renowned chef. We simply loved this experience and can’t wait to return.

The experience was exceptional. We visited Xiquet for an early Valentine's Day celebration and were lucky to get a seat next to the open kitchen. The menu and ingredient selections were outstanding. Staffs were attentive and provided a beautiful experience for the both of us. For a special occasion, or not, I would recommend trying this place out. Definitely deserved the Michelin star they were awarded with. We selected the 14 course meal and wine pairing for one ($850 including gratuity). A few improvements: music and attention to detail. Overall, Xiquet is one of the best in the area. If you are looking for a fine dining experience for your loved one or for yourself, this is the spot.
