Le Pain Quotidien

Ate here with my brother and 3 year old niece. The food was good, but the service was slow (it wasnt busy inside). We ate outside and the server asked for our order while inside, we went outside, then 20 minutes later, came out asking for our order again. Food came around 20 minutes after that. Our server gave us a kids menu but no crayons; it's hard keeping a 3 year old in a chair for 40 minutes, with no crayons to color.

We were looking for a good breakfast in the area, stopped by few places that were very crowded with poor menu. Looking at the pictures from Le Pain made us very hungry 🤤 we arrive, the place was pretty much empty, but looks very nice and cozy. The waitress new a lot about the menu and answered our questions in details. First the coffee arrived in a huge mug (large) which we loved. Then, every dish was better than the other. Everything came out exactly how we imagined. I eat the avocado toast which is rich in flavor. Don't go with the crowd, this place was much better than the others around it.

One of the nicer coffee places in union station for coffee, and definitely the best place if you want to get some work done on your laptop! It has consistently good wifi and several easily accessible plug points. It's also reasonably quiet and the ambience is pleasant and cheerful. A little on the expensive side though. Try the Belgian Hot Chocolate: it's a delight! I also liked the Chicken Chorizio omelette.

This shop is one part French pastry shop and one part cafe. There are a bunch of outside tables for warmer months. You can grab a seat downstairs, which can get loud, or head upstairs for more tables. If you want something heartier, the options are rather limited. And there's table service so just grab a seat if you're planning on lingering. There's no direction on this and we totally fumbled it, ordering at the counter first. #DC #Coffee #Croissant
