We tried 3 different croissants and all of them were amazing. We especially loved the “black sesame” one. We went there at 9am and there was a long line of people waiting outside but the croissants were worth the wait. Staff were friendly. We highly recommend it!

I too read the review in the Post on 26 October 2023 (in case anyone is looking). I don’t get down to DC often, and needed to go scout the upcoming Marine Corps Marathon, and thought I’d include a stop at Nino’s in the bargain. And what good fortune had I ! I arrived just before 1000, expecting there to be nothing left. There were several people in line, and after I stepped in, another ten folk showed up. I got to the counter, and obviously the baker’s rack to the side of the display case was nearly empty. I asked for four items, and as luck would have it, got the remaining four, to the disappointment of the folks behind me. There were three or four women working the counter, all passionate about their work (refreshing) and despite the work (or maybe thanks to it) the banter was good natured and there were smiles and patience. I was able to snag two passion fruit croissants, one chocolate, and a sfogliatelle.
The buttery light flakiness of the croissants in this style of Proust took me back to my college days in Paris, transposed from Alabama, the pastries there changed my life for the better, and Nino’s Bakery produces items just as heavenly; so good for the palate they are also good for the soul. Praised be Nino’s for making a go of it in only three days/week. One would hope they see their way to open for five, if not six or seven, to give more of the world’s souls an opportunity to rejoice in partaking the treasures offered here. Yes, I highly recommend, and yes, this is worth repeat trips on the Metro with Nino’s as destination.

The croissants are flaky and layered and buttery like all great ones are. The flavored ones are fantastic as well. But...
This place is open 3 days a week but it won't have all their items for sale when they open that first day. So don't get there too early. Also, you can't get there too late or things will be sold out.

Absolutely worth the wait. The pear and almond danish (pictured here with a big chomp taken out of it because I couldn’t resist) is flaky, buttery, not too sweet.
My new life mission is to try every single one of their beautiful pastries.

Fortunate enough to experience their almond croissant before the temporary closure due to the maternity leave! (Sending you all the best wishes for healthy delivery 🙏)
Got here 5 mins before the opening time, and there still was people lining up!
I got an almond croissant, a pistachio croissant and a chocolate croissant (and I was exercising a tremendous amount of self-restraint!).
And the croissants! They have a great balance of flaky, buttery, chewy and sweet! Their croissants leave up to the great reviews, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be back on line tomorrow morning to taste these amazing croissants one last time until this place opens back up!

It seems their croissants are very popular and sell out quickly so we made a reservation beforehand on line. And we like their idea about reducing food waste.
They have a variety of croissants and we could not decide, so we chose Assorted Mini Croissant Box and a Chocolate Hazelnut Croissant.
We wish they had fillings inside not only on the tops of each croissant, but all flavors are good.

We made this our breakfast one morning while in DC. Great croissants and other baked goods! The bread layers were flaky and buttery in all of them. Fillings were just the right amount and full of flavor. We tried several items and enjoyed every one. We will be back whenever we spend time in DC.

Totally celebrating this gem. Excellent Croissants in a humble little location that belies some of the best croissants I’ve ever had. Coffee was also good. The passion fruit croissant was surprisingly delightful. My expectations were not high and this place far surpassed them.

The BEST croissant EVER!!!
As much I love croissant, I am very picky about texture and flavor. Tried mamy famous croissant bakeries in NYC, Boston, and other cities but this place is the top notch!
Buttery but not soggy rather a bit crunch.
And those layers… please try!!👍🏼
Staffs are very friendly too💗

This place has one of the BEST chocolate croissants I’ve ever tasted. It’s so flaky and immaculate. ✨🥐
Before I got in, I checked google maps reviews, and majority of them was about how delicious the chocolate croissant was. So I had to try it! I also got a small cappuccino with skimmed milk. My total was close to $9.
I appreciated how clean and spacious the restroom was! Usually coffeeshop restrooms aren’t that clean.
I just wish the place was a little bigger to accommodate more customers. Because I waited a bit for one customer to leave so that I can use their table and work on my computer. But all in all, great atmosphere. 👍🏼
Shout out to Blaine & Sarah for being awesome baristas! Thank you for welcoming me with a great smile in the morning! ♥️♥️
