Captain White's Seafood

I’ve been here several times and it’s always smooth sailing. Glad I don’t have to deal with the wharf any more where there isn’t any legal parking. Captain White’s have updated their seafood containment stations. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I would suggest getting there early. Parking isn’t the greatest, but there is an entire parking lot across the street. This going to be your best spot for seafood if you live in the DMV.

It was my first time visiting this location. I waited for 10 minutes. Ruben was the only person came over SMILED, the guy in the grey hat was also nice. Ruben made me feel so comfortable, and welcome. Although I did not spend allot of money he treated me like I had 1 million dollars… I will definitely tell my entire family, so we can all support your business. Ruben was amazing and I will be forever grateful!!!!!..He is a wonderful man, and I can say he will have bright future… This guy made me feel so special he needs a raise…

I have followed Captain Whites since a lil girl, down at the SW wharf. And when they moved I continued to follow them. They have the best crabs and seafood and steam them to perfection if needed. The staff are friendly and they make us the customers feel like family. Thank you for finding a new home with free parking.

Captain White’s Seafood is the best! It’s easy to call in to place an order. They always have great deals and post the prices on Facebook. The crabs are fresh and they cook them to perfection, so tasty! The parking is a plus and the staff is very friendly. Love coming here for the crabs and fresh seafood. Thank you!

Service was friendly. Prices are just okay. Was open air, so there were flies landing on the stuff. There were 2 lines, long one for crabs and short line on the shrimp, etc. side. Cost to cook was $5. Had the live female blue crab and peeled and deveined shrimp. Crab was just okay and did not have much more meat than a smaller size. Shrimp was good. Only the lobster shrimp available looked larger, the other selections looked about the same size. I would season them myself if having them cooked here. The stuff used was heavy on salt. Parking looked insufficient. Melted seafood ice water and cooking water running down parking lot.

Got 1/2 bushel of large male blue crabs plus Carolina shrpims and clams yesterday. Crabs are excellent, shrimps are good. Clams are a little over steamed and over spiced (next time I am going to steam clams myself). Overall, excellent*!!, especially considering how fair there price is. Highly recommended!! This is the first time I visit them at the new location and I think they are better now, despite fewer selections (probably due to a cheaper lease and it seems that they have passed the savings to the customers, hopefully they can keep it up). Don't bother calling in the order during the weekends afternoon. It is impossible to get the calls through. The wait time was about 30 minutes if your want their steaming service. Go in earlier, it was swamped around 5:30pm yesterday, I am sure those folks have to wait much longer if they want the steaming service. I always liked Capitan White because they are one of the few shops (and there are fewer and fewer stores willing to do it now) that post their price on line. I just hate calling around for pricing. * Crabs are excellent, but my guess is this is a good season (2023) for Crabs. My hunch is based on 1.) the fact that most recent reviews in many sites mentioned good crabs and, 2.) my visits to Captain White in have not always been as positive in the past. Will certainly go back again this year Will update my review if future experience deviates from this one significantly. Photo taken during a lull yesterday. The line was long around 5:30.

My first time checking out Captain White's at the Oxon Hill location. The line to purchase moved quite quickly. I purchased a dozen large male crabs, a pound of peeled/deveined shrimp with a roll of paper. I paid an extra $5 to have the crabs and shrimp steamed. That was an experience. It took about 45 minutes for that process to be completed. Thank goodness the sun was not shining even though it was warm outside because it would have been miserable waiting. It was definitely worth the wait. Crabs and shrimp were both delicious.

So this place is awesome. I woke up craving steamed crabs and didn’t want to go all the way to Annapolis. So I googled local places, and found Captain Whites. I bought a dozen large jimmies steamed with heavy seasoning, and let me tell you, there was not a single dud in the batch. Every crab was heavy with meat, and with a little re-steaming at home to heat them up, the meat was tender, sweet, and delicious. I will definitely be returning this summer for more.
