Simply Banh Mi

The food is great and the company even better! John goes out of his way to ensure you have a wonderful experience—from recommending chicken/beef and sauce combinations to personally delivering food to your car. We used to drive all the way from Cleveland just to have the halal banh mi, which is delicious! Now when we fly from Cali to visit family in Virginia, Simply Banh Mi is a must :)

Amazing food & service! The food is fresh and full of flavor. I had the vermicelli noodles, lemongrass tofu, and added crispy eggplant. The crispy eggplant and tofu were AMAZING. 👍🏻Highly recommend. But what was even more amazing, was the truly outstanding customer service. I am vegan, and I wrote that in the order notes. Literally within one minute of my order being placed, the owner called me directly to confirm he got the message and that there would be “no meat for me today.” 😂. I have been vegan for a while, and this was the first time any restaurant has called me directly like that. It was greatly appreciated and just shows that this business truly cares for their customers. A+ all the way around!

We did not dine in so I can not comment on the any other aspects apart from the food. The sandwich DAMN..! It’s one of the best Banh mi sandwiches I have eaten. We got the lemon chicken, cold cuts and BBQ pork. Not even one disappointed us. The sandwich was crunchy at the same time easy to bite in. The flavors were amazing. Not too spicy, not soggy as well. I would go with their recommendations about the sauce and toppings. If you are craving or wanting to try a Banh mi, don’t even hesitate this is the place to go to. The staff were so friendly. Heads up- it’s on a busy street with not much of parking, there is a street behind where you can park and walk for five min.

I was in the DC area for the first time due to some work and during the lunch break I decided to look up if there were any halal restaurants near me at the time. I saw the usual Kabob places and was surprised when I saw a Vietnamese restaurant come up under Halal. A little skeptical, but I decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did! It was easy to find. Lovely place. Looked great from the inside and out! It has seating for about 16-18 people all inside. Menu was simple and easy to understand. I was there with my brother and we were both excited at the fact that they had Halal Beef and Halal Chicken. Diana was the one who greeted us and helped us by explaining the type of dishes they served. Very nice person. I ordered the Rice bowl with Lemon Chicken, Peanut sauce, Peppers, and a Fried Egg. So delicious! Can't describe how amazing the food was. It looked wonderful and tasted even better! One thing though, I eat a lot of food personally and I would've liked a little more rice. While I waited for the food I talked with John. Really cool guy. We got to talking about why they chose to serve halal food in their restaurant, how they started up "Simply Banh Mi", how far they've come, and if they're going to open another one any time soon. Really nice people, location, great food, and I'll definitely be coming back again with my family and friends!
