Updated review 12/8/23 Decided to give it another try from a suggestion from the nudge for their hot chocolate and glad we came in - it’s so cute for the holidays! There’s also a whole back area I didn’t know existed. Definitely a niche vibe but I might give it another try for dinner after this experience! Original review in 2022 - 3 stars Great service and food is pretty good. The fondue is tasty but only comes with bread - getting other sides is extra (and you can’t get a mix of them - like a side of a bowl of potatoes or a bowl of apples or a bowl of pickles) and would have liked more variety. We purchased some extra - the apples and potatoes - the potatoes were a little hard and completely flavorless (needed some salt in my opinion) - still tasted too plain even in the cheese. The table is a little small to not feel cramped. Overall, it was a good experience but we probably won’t go back. For dinner in the $$$ range, I would expect to leave with a fully satisfied belly!

Fantastic authentic Swiss food (coming from a Swiss) with great Swiss ambiance and hospitality. The bread is delicious as is the rest of the menu which includes all the Swiss staples. The owners are very welcoming and went out of their way to make music feel special and welcome. And don’t skip that spirits menu that includes proper Swiss beer, wine and schnapps! Will definitely be back!

My friend and I stumbled upon this place and have never been so surprisingly shocked. Our server was incredibly nice, and our food was absolutely mind boggling. The French toast is the best French toast we’ve ever had in our entire LIFEE. The banana craffle was INCREDIBLE and you have GOT TO try the pretzel. We absolutely recommend this place to anyone and everyone. This is a MUST GO.

I came here to celebrate my birthday, and couldn’t be happier. We booked a chalet for more of a private experience; the server was friendly, helpful with recommendations, and on point. The food–from fondue, to venison, to mousse–was spectacular. I’m just elated with every aspect of the experience and can’t wait to return; it’s a little piece of Europe in DC.

I brought my mom to have Raclette for her birthday dinner. We had a lovely time. The chalet seating was perfect -- as my parents age, I try to be mindful of acoustics in hip restaurants and the chalet resolved that problem entirely. Highlights: Attentive service. Plenty of food. Fabulous and creative cocktails. A cozy, delicious, and memorable dinner.

Stable is one of the best and most underrated restaurants in DC. I’ve been there over ten times, for breakfast, brunch, and dinner. The fondue is excellent, but so are their regular entrees and drinks. Some of my favorite things are the cheese plate starter, the cheese laugen and all other baked goods, the quiche, and the fondue. The owners are often there working in person and are great people. The waitstaff are all excellent and service is always good. For larger parties, the themed “chalet” rooms in the back are very fun and are almost like being inside a ski resort in Switzerland. Perhaps most importantly, this restaurant is great value, especially for the excellent food and service. Brunch for 5-6 people is often something like $30 each, even with drinks, tax, and tip. I would recommend getting a reservation since this restaurant is quite popular, but it’s worth it. Truly an excellent restaurant. In summary, I love this place. Can’t recommend Stable highly enough.
