Jojo Restaurant And Bar

Cozy, unpretentious and authentic. This small, dimly-lit, brick-lined bar had live jazz music, fairly priced food (large portions!) and drinks. It's the kind of place where the performers have a drink at the bar and chat with patrons between sets. A refreshing change from other overpriced "fancy" restaurants in the area.

Took my hubby there for his birthday, when we got there it was packed. We had reservations but still had to wait 25 minutes for the next available seating Honestly because the atmosphere was awesome and the hostess was attentive with a pleasant demeanor, it was worth the wait! The food and drinks are amazing... let's not talk about the music 💯 can't wait to go back!

We absolutely loved this restaurant. Pros The food was delicious. The band was incredible. The customer service was great. We made reservations and there was no wait upon arrival. Did I mention the food was delicious lol?! Cons Be prepared to pay because it is costly for entrées and drinks. My fiance ordered the ravioli which was over $30 and she only received about 5. It wasn't fulfilling at all. They include gratuity automatically in check. Overall we loved Jojo's and definitely will go back when we're in the city.

Jojo has a jazz bar/club downstairs and dining upstairs. They make a mighty effort to combine the two. The upstairs has a large-screen TV view of the stage which is nice, but, if you were hoping to experience a live jazz performance during dinner, it desn't quite make the grade. The music downstairs is loud enough to be heard in the dining room upstairs, but it's a lot like listening to music through a window in the next room at the neighbor's house. Not really ideal for critical listening. The music was fine. (certainly far better than piped in canned Muzak) The dinner was fine. (certainly far better than stock bar food) But it's a bit of a compromise to try to do both to best effect. If you're able to manage your expectations, it's quite enjoyable given the facility space they have to work with.

While visiting Washington, D.C. for my husband's birthday, I decided to make reservations at this Restaurant/Bar Jazz club. The ambience was romantic and the live band was an added plus. The band even played Happy Birthday to my husband and another guest. The food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place r family and friends.

I’ve been trying to find the perfect day time to eat at Jojos and it was worth the wait! Let’s start with the pros: It’s very intimate but with such a welcoming feel. I had the calamari for a starter and that’s probably some of the best calamari I’ve had, followed by the lamb for the main course and bread pudding for dessert. Everything was incredibly delicious. For drinks, I had the ginger mule and another cocktail (already forgot the name) Let’s not forget about the live music while I was finishing off dessert. *added favorite* My only con is that our server had a bit of an attitude but my friends and I chose to ignore it because the food was incredible, service was fast and the other server helping her was super sweet. Overall, such a rare gem in D.C. 4.5 stars but rounding up because the food!
