Cafe Milano

In years past when DC was literally a slum people considered Georgetown to be DC. So, of course, people would come to Georgetown to eat decent meals. The food at Café Milano is very good. The service is outstanding. But you no longer need to go to Georgetown if you want to find a meal that’s similarly very good. There are plenty of restaurants downtown now with the same quality of food. So while the experience here is good, it’s not necessarily worth a $25 Uber ride to get there if you live downtown or are staying downtown in Washington, DC.

We came here to celebrate an anniversary and it was amazing! Staff was attentive and friendly. Food was really good! We ordered the large prawn, pappardelle veal ragu and prosciutto pizza. The drinks were also great! We heard a lot of Italian while we were in the restaurant so that is a great sign as well. Definitely would come again!

We had a lovely evening at Cafe Milano, sat in their covered terrace - Gary, our lovely server, was very friendly, charismatic and attentive. We would recommend the carpaccio, it was excellent. Wine list slightly on the pricey side, though the bottle of wine that we had was, despite being one of the cheapest, very nice ($65).

4-7-2023 - Table of 3 Overall: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Great Food and Service. On one of the side streets of Georgetown. We were seated in the outdoor tented area so the ambiance left a lot to be desired. The lighting was very strong and stark. The food and the service made up for it, but will insist on an indoor table if there is a next time. A few memorable dishes we tried are listed below.. - FIORI DI ZUCCA - Ricotta filled squash blossom tempura served with a very subtle eggplant sauce. They literally melted in our mouth. - CALAMARATA KITON - A mixture of fresh seafood in a red sauce. We almost always get order for family style eating. Our server was kind enough to divide and serve everyone on their plate. All plates were beautifully plated and served. We ordered from the specials.

Miriam greeted me so warmly with her Italian women warmth! I’ll be back just because of her. My meal began with a bread service accompanied by some extra virgin olive oil for dipping. I ordered an insalatina featuring a butter lettuce, lemon vinaigrette, candied walnuts and a mild garganzola. Next, I had a traditional Tagliatelle Zegna topped with a veal, pork & beef ragu bolognese style. “Mama Mia!” I ended the evening with an amazing tiramisu & an espresso. Everything was amazing but my heart was so touched by me sweet Miriam!

It's... OK. Not the worst. Not the best. Olive Garden quality food with the prices of a 5-star fine dining establishment. Waiter was not rude... but was also not the friendliest either... if you know what I mean. The desert was brought out in a jar... like I understand you guys wanna be creative and artistic but come on... just give me the piece of cake on a dish - but maybe that's the peasant in me talking.
