Cooperativa Can Magi

Mariona and Giorgi (Magi) have created a wonderful space at the very centre of Vic's main square in a hidden hallway from the busy market (on Tuesdays and Saturdays) where they can showcase their love for photography (@mariona_giner renowned photographer/artist focused on social issues) and a tea room (a long dream from Goga). The space is very cosy and romantic with strong rock walls reminiscent of medieval times. We were there to have a tasting menu that included a fig and beetroot salad, stuffed aubergines, homemade humous, deep-fried white aubergines, with a gorgeous red wine from Priorat from their small selection of wines and we ended with chai tee and blinis with dark hot chocolate. You could savour the local market flavours from the dishes Goga has created from scratch with lovely salad dressings and wonderful cooked dishes. The white aubergines with a strong garlic taste were a triumph. The delicacy of the blinis with the subtle sweetness of the dark chocolate was to die for. The place is open Tuesday for Saturday 12-19h and if there are events planned they open until late in the evening. This couple shows their love through proximity, fair trade and local food and they are very welcoming.

Día de escapada a Vic. Callejeando, de camino a la catedral, encuentro este local, me llama la atención porque hacen exposiciones. Es un lugar multidisciplinar: tetería, comidas, meriendas, copas de tardeo, además de las exposiciones de fotografía. El lugar, una antigua casa del siglo XVI, es un sitio muy cálido. Entre para tomarme un té y repostería -hecha por ellos- y terminé quedándome a comer. Excelente atención
