The Marquee Theatre

attended last night to see Silverstein. entry was easy, security was friendly, bartenders were friendly. it wasn't too crowded and the ac was on so it didn't get too hot which was really nice. VIP after was an easy process, even though employees were cleaning up the floor after the show. great teamwork of everyone to have a safe and fun show.

I went yesterday to Atmosphere's concert, I had a blast, like all things in life there were things that I Liked and others that not so much, in general a good place to enjoy good shows, it's small and can get crowded, the prices of the drinks and beers like in every other place, a place to smoke with chairs and stuff, the only thing that they can improve is selling food like in other places, not just a bending machine with junk food, in this case they were charging 10 dollars for the parking lot also.

My friends and I have attended a lot concerts at the Marquee Theatre over the course of many years. We have epic stories to tell, but for now, here's a review of the venue. Staff is friendly and easy to deal with. I've never seen Security act unprofessionally when dealing with concertgoers who can sometimes be rowdy. The acoustics in this building are good, but it all depends on how well the person at the soundboard has the band's mixed sound dialed in. Every time I've been there, the heating and cooling has been working well. Never seen it sweltering hot. If anything, the balcony was a little bit cool during a September concert. Yep, there is balcony seating for an additional charge beyond General Admission. The rail is lined with backless barstools that are packed in so tightly that they are actually bumping against each other. Pushing numerous chairs into a corner provides necessary elbowroom for the remaining barstools. If they sold seating for all those barstools, it would be very uncomfortable to sit there. People would have to stagger front and back. The balcony has a bar and two unisex restrooms. They have a box office window that's open weekdays where you can still buy a physical ticket, not an e-ticket. You Old-Schoolers know what I'm talking about.

This is a nice, small venue with a variety of shows to see. Their security measures helped me feel safe, from checking bags to escorting unruly attendees out (which did happen while we were there!). Be aware that it is standing room only unless you reserve one of the limited number of balcony seats, but the view is great no matter where you are. They sell ear plugs at the door, and if you are worried at all, I recommend buying a pair because it gets pretty loud in such a small space. The bathrooms were clean, but be aware that there is a bathroom attendant who requests tips, which I found to be a very odd addition to this theater. Other than that, every staff member we interacted with was amiable and we would definitely consider attending another concert here.

Fantastic venue. Very intimate setting (close and personal). Plenty of spots to grabe a beverage. Nice balcony seating and an all-around safe feeling atmosphere. Lots of shows to choose from with kid friendly options as well. I witnessed Jerry Cantrell, amazing, and had a great time in Tempe. Go see a show, say hi to the staff and have a wonderful time.
