Mark's Bake Shoppe

My husband and I just got married. We used Mark for our wedding cake and deserts. Gianna and Mark were super nice and professional. We wanted to do something different than the traditional wedding cakes that never get eaten and thrown out. We had small cakes that were given out to our guests since we planned to have a huge Venetian hour. They came out perfect and everyone loved them. Then we had our very own 7” red velvet cake for immediate family. Both were delicious and I will definitely be going back for more. They also make icecream cakes. I can’t wait to try one of those!!!!

Mark’s Bake Shoppe always exceeds our expectations. We have been going there from the day they opened and to see how they have expanded their baked good selection since then is amazing. Everything, and I mean everything is so fresh and delicious. This isn’t your typical Staten Island bakery and that is a refreshing reality. During Covid, the shop was our saving grace for fresh baked bread, muffins, donuts and ofcourse his fabulous cookies. It brought us a sense of normalcy when selections in stores were limited. We were so grateful. I’ve ordered custom birthday cakes and to see the faces around the celebration table and hear the comments about the cake is confirmation enough that Marks Bake Shoppe is the best!!!!!

Ordered a cake for my sons baptism and the pictures I showed were way off from what I got. First two pictures are what I showed the owner. I said I wanted naked cake with a SLIGHT blue hint like in the picture and the drip in silver instead of gold with the white flowers. No cookies or cross.. my husband goes to pick up the cake 15 minutes before the pick up time and he said the girl at the counter looked confused as if there was no cake ready. She said “oh you’re early just give us a few minutes” which is why I think this cake was slapped together last minute. The second two pictures are what I received. Embarrassment. The cake is totally blue and the silver drip is all over and looks disgusting and was sooo thick I couldn’t cut through it. I had to take a large serrated knife and literally saw through it and the whole top was cracking. The only thing was that it tasted good but was so horrible to look at. First and last time at this bakery.

Hands down best bakery on Staten Island! Their unique take on traditional cakes, donuts, breads and cookies is delicious and fun. I often order their baskets which make perfect gifts, full of amazon treats and extra special touches. Their specialty cakes are beautifully crafted and so good, definitely must try!
