This bar was literally around the corner from a restaurant that my friends and I had dinner at and I'm almost positive that my friends had picked this place for A. convenience and B. because the football/soccer game was on. At the end of it all, I'm really glad we did. It totally made my visit to Seville, much less my visit to Spain a memorable experience!
The gentlemen behind the counter are so friendly and so hospitable, despite the language barrier. The people at the bar were friendly as well. All of them knew were looking to have a good time and they all delivered! From the gentleman who helped translate that we wanted shots to celebrate our friend's birthday at midnight, to the friendly Belgiums sitting behind us (our FIFA rivals that same night).
Nothing beats the unpretentious vibe and the low budget menu, and the beer is cold just like it should be! Look out for either Antonio or Javier behind the bar!
Came here for a light lunch when we got into town. We were immediately seated and offered beverages. The menu was already on the table, a separate one for Spanish, english and french. We ordered the Iberian ham canapé, Iberian ham with Roquefort, chicken skewers, and this pork stew. All the food was good, except the Roquefort sauce tasted like blue cheese and I'm not a fan of bleu cheese. Their stew had a good flavor and it came with a quail egg. It was perfectly paired with the bread they bring you. The bread and Iberian ham sandwich/canapé was very good too. Light and filling. Wish I could do that as a snack back home on a daily basis.
We were bone tired when we reached Seville late Tuesday night. After checking into our hotel we followed the concierge's recommendation and came to this square adjacent to a church two blocks from the hotel with several tapas restaurants supposedly patronized by locals. We settled on this tapas bar. The place was bustling and packed at 930! We found a table next to the bar counter occupied by local customers sitting, chatting and watching soccer, reminiscent of the Cheer's bar). After consulting online translation app to decipher key menu words, we ordered ham croquettes, crispy fried camarones shrimp fritters, tasty pork cheek carrillada, and traditional pisto stew topped with three quail eggs. With red wine as beer our bill came to 28 euros. We had ordered too much food! They all tasted good, especially the shrimp. Service was friendly despite communication barrier. Thus began our tapafest in Spain for the next ten days.
Old line tapas place. We never would have found this place without our friends. Great service, cold beer, excellent Rioja. Fish balls were great as was the tuna in tomato sauce. Hugely busy.
It was extraordinarily busy on a rainy Saturday night, we were very lucky to get a table (as some people had just left). Los Claveles was what one imagines when one thinks of a Spanish Tapas bar; right on the square, with people spilling out of the bar's open front, protected from the nights downpour by a large canopy.
You can order your food and drinks at the bar, or your table if you can attract attention. At the bar I ordered drinks as well as picking up out first plate of tapas; marinated anchovies with bread, which went down a treat. While eating this the second arrived; a small prawn and aioli sandwich. Our red wine was warmed, which was in contrast to the chilled red wine we had been served at lots of other places in the city (and had taken to doing at our holiday flat as well).
By the time we had finished these tapas, the table next to us have been vacated. We were expecting a bowl of pork cheek stew but this was not forthcoming. Fortunately we were rather full and were not charged for this, so settled up and continued on our tapeo for the evening.
This is my favorite bar in Sevilla. Fun atmosphere, eclectic staff, and one of the best burgers I've ever eaten.
Real feel of Seville. Waiter was very helpful. The complete sandwich, jam on, pork steak, quail egg, on a muffin, was excellent. Also had pork tripe, fish balls.

Tapa caseras. Gran variedad en su carta. Trato amable, eficaz y cercano! Muy recomendable “montaito” completo!
