Kokoro Japanese Sushi

I loved the sushi I had they were tempura rolls, flamed salmon sushi and salmon sashimi. The prices are really affordable. Salmon sashimi was fresh only under $20 for 20 pieces if I remembered it right. Although the place is a casual not so grand. I was happy with my food and the prices, not to mention generous portions too. And the owner doesn’t seem so friendly at first and doesn’t talk much but I could tell he was smiling behind his mask to see me enjoying his food ☺️

I go here to get a sushi/sashimi pack for lunch when I don't have the time to queue at the very popular sushi place further down the street. Also, I kind of want to support the underdog. More often than not, I regret my decision. The sashimi does not taste fresh. The rice is too tightly packed in the nigiris and lacking in rice seasoning. On 2 separate occasions, I found bones in my sashimi. I recently also found fish scales stuck to the sashimi which is rather off-putting and makes me question how the food is cleaned and handled. I don't think I'll be giving them another chance.

Fast service serving delicious Japanese food. There is an extensive à la carte range of dishes including plenty of pre-made rice and fish associated sushi. From California Rolls to Raw Tuna Rolls. Order a freshly made Beef Don with rice for a harty felling meal. There is plenty of seating inside and out with alcohol available. Easy access for wheelchair or impaired accessibility. Conveniently open on a public holiday, which is much appreciated whilst on the way to the Australia Day Cricket.
