Food Lion

Food lion on new market is fine but those kids working there need a course in customer service. Their customer service is waaaayyyyy off or non existent. I left a bag at the check out counter and walked away. I am a slow walker and I even stopped to take my bags out the cart in plain view of the cashier I checked out from. The kid at register 6 didn't open his mouth. I KNOW he saw my bag that I left. I get home and discover my missing bag and immediately called back. I called back to tell customer service that I think I left a bag of groceries she didn't even go check her response was "you probably did". She told me to come back and I said and do what? She said you can come get whatever you left. Me: You mean replace whatever I left? Yes. Please train the kids.

Very polite and helpful staff. I'm handicapped; they took the groceries from the electric ginp cart I was riding, rang them up, and even put them back in after bagging them for me. Had I been at Kroger, no help would have been offered and they would have put the twenty pound boxes of canned cat food on top of chips in the same bag.

I shop here often, because it's 1.2 miles away and I can get in and out in a half hour lunch period. Pleasant staff, some good specials, and surprisingly well stocked for a small-town grocery. Excellent selection of gluten-free goods. Sure, they've had some problems during the pandemic - haven't we all?
