Seafood Sensations

This place is amazing! We got the Alaskan snow crab boil with both steamed shrimp and fried shrimp. The boil came with the standard potatoes, corn on the cob, sausages and boiled eggs, but it also had broccoli, which was a solid addition with the garlic butter. We chose the basic garlic butter sauce and it’s the best I’ve ever had, the perfect mix of butter, garlic and lemon (I even dipped my fries in it). The food was perfectly cooked. The crab legs were flavored very well and not soggy in the least. The shrimp were huge and had a perfectly light and flavorful batter. Everything was very fresh. Homemade tartar sauce that was far and away better than anything that can be bought. And that butter sauce! At first glance, the prices seem high. But you get so much food, it’s a good deal. We split the Alaskan crab/shrimp boil and fried shrimp platter, four people. We couldn’t even eat it all. And this is good, fresh, quality food. This will definitely be our go-to seafood place from now on. The service was spot on. We didn’t have to wait long for the food and the guys who run it were very friendly and helpful. And the music in the restaurant will take you back and make you dance while you’re eating. We had a great time and experience.

OMG!!! I’m in town for work and just wanted some good food and just happened to see this place after coming out of College Crib. I ordered a 3-piece catfish dinner with fries, coleslaw and a coke. I was prepared to be disappointed, but I was so wrong. The food was cooked to order, but the wait wasn’t that long. The service was impeccable. The lady who took my order also brought my food to my table and, though this is a small cafe, she made me feel like I was having a fine dining experience at an expensive restaurant. I expected to get mad when she showed me three fish strips. Instead, I got 3 nice sized fillets. It was enough food for me and at least one other grown person. I hope I get to come back to Nashville again just so that I can come here to eat.

Man this place is OMG good. Right beside the college off Jefferson and easy to find in a strip mall. Now the seafood is wonderful. Reminds me of the Catch in Houston, TX....but this place the seafood was BETTER. Loved it. The meals are huge enough for two really or a second meal the next day. What a great place. You just don't want to miss this place. We hit it for a lunch meal and were so happy we did. I imagine they sell out quick of many items, so lunch would be my recommendation. The staff was kind and attentive as well.

Just went for lunch around 1:00pm, we had the 25 wings (fries and coleslaw). 10 breaded w/ honey gold and 10 naked w/ cajun! 1000/10, so good!!!! Cajun is different at every food establishment, so these were pretty good. I had in mind of a dry cajun rub, but since they were naked, it wasn't those. The honey gold was SO GOOD. I'm a fry gal, so the fries were good. Didn't wait too long for the food either, it was 25 wings, so it's not quick like fast food (I didn't count the time, but I know it wasn't long). Both of the men there were very attentive, kind and funny.

The food was amazing the flavor the seasoning everything about it the prices are reasonable the portions are big so impressed. The very nice lady who serviced us has great customer service and an amazing attitude so nice helpful and was a great experience will tell all my friends about it and will be back (:

I gave a 5 star review 4 years ago but had to come back to update (still 5 stars!!) because as often I return to this place they just don’t miss. SS is a neighborhood gem. Hands down still the best seafood in Nashville and they’ve updated their interior to be more aesthetically pleasing. The Jefferson St area is on the come up as well, all in all was 5 stars and still 5 stars!

Re-Visited UPDATE: July 23' ELITE - LEVEL WINNER: We wanted seafood badly, but we needed to take it out which can be risky if you like your food Hot and Ready, especially seafood. #1 called an hour ahead and requested if possible a pickup time and they absolutely nailed it. #2. The provided foil platter was sealed in shrink wrap, and food was Hot AF. #3. Now the good stuff. The lobster tail was perfectly cooked and was a nice fatty that was succulent. 4. The Alaskan Crab was giant and full of sweet meat also perfectly seasoned and prepared. 5. I think the sausages are the best in Nashville and I could order these someday just by themselves. 6. Shrimp were deliciously steamed. Again the best tasting, best value (Massive amounts of food) for seafood cooked and served by the friendliest people. They get my "Elite-Level" Best Of Nashville Secrets award. This place is National-Class out in the tinfoil box delicious seafood. Happy belly. Fresh. Seasoned. Hot. Tasty. So much goodness. And Troy's all crab meat crab cakes are money. Plus, the owner comes out and talks with you. 5*+++. Going back next week.
