The decor leaves a lot to be desired but the place is clean if on the shabby side. The prices are more than reasonable. The portions enormous and super fresh. Menu small but deliciously executed, simple food for simple patrons (yes they are). Staff very friendly and accommodating. Overall highly recommendable, I do tend to go back whenever I get a chance. I am a vegan and this place is a safe haven. The only hiccup is when you go at a typical (for Spaniards) meal time, say 9pm, the waiting is going to kill the buzz a bit, as there's one or two cooks who handle the place. Many a time did I want to jump over the counter and help at the till, just to get the orders moving.

Ordering local cuisine abroad when you don't eat meat or seafood can be limiting, or at the very least intimidating when you're not 100% sure that what you just ordered at an omnivore restaurant is fully vegetarian and you feel like a touristy dweeb trying to double-check in American English. That being the case, I was pleased to find B13, a vegan tapas bar in a tight space on a narrow street off the center of town. The vibe was relaxed and hip without any uncomfortable pretension (at least I didn't sense any awkwardness and we even had a 5 year old with us). It wasn't fancy (which I like) and it had what we wanted (which was a couple of iconic tapas dishes made vegan). Basically, whatever you call it, it's still deep-fried bar food, but it is what it is and I appreciate that.

This place is popular, and for good reason. We only tried a few things, just popped in for a snack, but the croquetas and patatas bravas were worth getting. The staff were friendly, even when I missed the sign in English saying cash only, and drew me a little map to the nearest ATM. Pay attention to the hours, go early, and enjoy.

Best vegan place I've ever went to. Their meals and service are amazing and everything is delicious. I want to go back to Madrid just to eat there

This was the first meal in Madrid and OMG- it was so good. Like many restaurants in Spain, B13 closes for a couple of hours during the early afternoon. Dinner begins at 8:30; we got there at 8:40 and the place was already packed! Thankfully, a couple shared their table with us, so we were able to take a seat pretty quickly. I ordered the durum kebab, the bestie ordered a chicken burger and we shared an order of the patatas bravas with a side of aioli. The kebab was great, juicy and light. Great kick off the the Madrid portion of our adventure.

B13 is easy to find and really yummy. We had the daily meal and it was very good. Also got some strawberry milkshakes, which were delicious. Very crowded when we went, and had to wait in line. Found the ordering system a little confusing and wish there was more space, but overall a good experience. Huge portions. Good price.

This casual dining place is tucked away in a hole in the wall in a not so busy street in Madrid. Ordering was different than most other places because you just had to go up to the bar and order your food directly, different from sitting and having someone take your order. I liked this casual concept. The food was incredible. I had the "chicken" with garlic and mushrooms and the "hot dog." The chicken was seasoned so well and not too chewy, like most imitation chicken I have had. The hot dog was delicious as well, and topped with relish and fried onions. Don't miss this restaurant!

This place is legit! A real Vegan-punk hangout with very friendly operators and some uniquely Spanish animal-free treats!! Try the tortilla Espania! No eggs and it is so bomb!!

This place is great! Vegan/vegetarian bar-type food. It gets busy at lunch time so come early! I ordered the calamari appetizer and chorizo sandwich. It was delicious! My only complaint is that the sandwich was a bit dry for my liking. I had also asked if the side of peppers were Padron peppers, told they were, and they weren't. Still pretty delicious though :)

Vegan junk food at it's best! Good cheap eats that will fill you on a minimum amount of Euros. 3 of us ate like kings for €17. The winner was the garlic potatoes. Wish one of us had tried the hot dogs, but we were only 3 and each had our own main in addition to 3 starters. Not the place if you're looking for something clean. Perfect if you've been drinking. Oh yeah, and good punk rock playing in the background.

Vegano. Acogedor. Buen ambiente antiespecista. Emblemático pincho de tortilla. Buena calidad precio. Hay Coca-Cola vegana.
