It's a franchised Cafeteria American Diner Style with an ample menu. Plenty of TV to watch La Liga while eating and spotty service. The place was huge and it was pretty packed.
We were promptly seated at a comfortable booth, with a TV facing us.
A Grilled Salmon Salad and Burgers with Sparkling Water & Fanta limonada rounded off the meal.
The Salad was huge and delicious. The Burgers tasty and one could make your own burger. I had Bacon and Sautéed Onions added to mine. Lettuce, Onions,Tomato to my friend. Fries were good.
Strawberry Cheesecake to share was nice.
At least 4 different servers took care of us. Maybe it was a shift change.

Typically, we love to visit local places that have authentic cuisine. But since we met some friends here, we made the best of the situation. VIPS ended up being similar to Denny's back in the States. The ambiance, again, was similar to Denny's or IHOP, but the service was great. The food was a little low on salt, but overall, I'd say this is a safe restaurant to visit if one isn't as adventurous or if one has food restrictions as you're sure to find options here!

I ordered take out, tipped the waitress 2 euros and waited 25 minutes until I finally asked about my food and it was cold. Must have sat there for at least 10-15 minutes. Needless to say cold fries and burger were terrible. Save your money, avoid at all costs.

A friendly, easy place to stop in for a quick meal. Great for late night food. I couldn't come close to finishing my food but the ice cream was sooo good. If you want something quick and easy and you are tired of tapas this is a great option. It would be good for groups and good for kids also. They are friendly about having people sit and eat and drink at a relaxed pace. No rush. Enjoy.

I think this spot is a solid 3.5.
Stayed nearby and it's walking distance from Westin.
Liked: Turkey with scrambled cheese eggs was very tasty, chicken salad was generous and red wine and drink selection nice.
Disliked: French toast croissant with ice cream, pass.
I'll say though the servers were nice, the outdoor seating inviting and all affordable. Inside has easy to go options which I used for sushi, beer, bottled wine and brownies. Snacks over hotel dining worked for me and it's open to midnight on a weekday when others are closing up shop.
You can get your traditional pancakes bacon and eggs for like 6-8 Euro with coffee included for breakfast.

VIPS is a very casual restaurant, not the most lavish place yet they offer late breakfasts (by Madrid's standards) which is a novelty in Madrid!!!
The service here is not exceptional as the staff are slow & nonchalant in their approach!
Although an "English" Menu is offered here the staff have little knowledge of the language & prefer to be guided through the menu by pointing!
The food is okay, decent when compared to their prices.

What joke of a place VIPS is! A cheap Mexican chain restaurant selling American foods in Madrid? Really now!
I'm going Two Stars on this place because it's clean, cheap and with good service, however, the food is awful. My hope is that the people of Madrid don't actually conclude that the food served here is at all up to the standards found even in the cheapest dive bars of the United States.
I went for the Philly steak figuring it's so simple it couldn't possibly be screwed up but screwed up and lackluster in flavor it was. It was nothing at all compared to any Philly cheese steak I've ever tasted anywhere, even in Hong Kong. VIPS is nothing but a cheap belly filler of a place for food.

NOT THE SAME VIPS AS IN MEXICO. If you come here think Spanish not Mexican . I had one of the specials of the day, chicken breast with melted cheese and rice with sausa and a vegetable. The girl next to me had tacos, she left almost all. The special was 7 euros including drink. There are two floors, the restrooms are clean but you need the code to get into it. There are lots of sweets too and its a good place to go for lunch or late night snacks be in in Spain or in Mexico but for going to Vips in Mexico for the past 25 years for breakfast , lunch, and late snacks I do like the Mexican Vips better, I just like my food spicy and alive with taste but for a good fast meal you can't beat it.. This place is so refreshing for an American!
You can find a VIPS pretty much in any neighborhood you're in. I would describe it as a nicer Chili's. They have a variety of foods from breakfast to burgers to ribs to wraps & salads!! It isn't necessarily cheap but is cheap for a good American meal!
I got the french toast last time I was there- to die for! It had fresh berries topped on it, which is an expensive commodity here, with powdered sugar.
I have also had some sort of burger that probably had my daily caloric intake in it. It had bacon, a fried egg and a fried onion ring. It was massive and amazing!

VIPS is essentially a Spanish Denny's.
They offer something for every tourist! English breakfast, American breakfast, Spanish breakfast...burgers and fries, tapas...
Service was painfully slow, but our food was ordered and served quickly. The free wifi is also a plus!
They have a small convenience store in the building which came in handy for buying bottled water, snacks and small, packable meals.

Another good cafeteria (cafe/restaurant) in the Alcala area. This restaurant is across from my hotel. They have a lot of offerings from Spanish to American dishes. So there is something for everyone. I ordered a Nebraska burger since I am craving for something that is familiar and filling. The burger was cooked to perfection, medium. The one thing that is unique to this burger is that it has a fried egg on top of the patty....so, juicy beef patty + fried egg = YUMMAAAAAY! The only problem I encountered was when I ordered Cafe Americano, I thought it was a regular coffee but instead it was actually an esspresso. This, of course was my bad and not the restaurant's fault. I also ordered Coke Light (diet), the Coke bottle was so small. Being so used to getting free refills in the States, I was sipping it like it was precious liquid gold. The service was extremely friendly and fast. As far as pricing, I would say it was a bit more expensive than VIPS or Hontanarios. But overall, I enjoyed dining at this cafeteria.

Buena ubicación céntrica para ir a merendar.
Antes de sentarnos nos avisaron que no tenían tortitas.
Pedimos la tostada de aguacate y tomate con extra de salmón ahumado, y un sándwich mixto con extra de queso.
Destacar que merece la pena pedir el extra de salmón porque es una buena cantidad. Pero reclamamos que el sándwich vino a la mesa muy frío y de mala gana lo recalentaron en un microondas.

La comida excelente, calidad precio súper bien y súper deliciosa para ser un establecimiento franquicia. Además, las cantidades son enormes para el precio!! Está genial porque ofrece comida realmente nutritiva y que se nota que tiene calidad en contra a otras multinacionales como mcdonalds. Es verdad que los precios son más altos que en este tipo de sitios pero no se pasa de los precios normales para un restaurante. Para mi personalmente el establecimiento no fue lo mejor ya que había mucho ruido, pero la limpieza estaba muy bien. Te dan kétchup, mayonesa y mostaza gratis, lo que se agradece. El agua un poco cara (cobran por vaso). Por lo demás atención al cliente súper bien e incluso me pude llevar las sobras en una bolsa que me dieron. Por cierto, todo estaba brutal de combinación de sabores. Recomiendo pedir los sándwiches con patatas camperas en vez de normales (puedes pedirlas sin que aumente el precio original del sándwich). En mi propio gusto me gustó más la del pulled pork con pan de maíz.

Platos arriesgados 🔥🔥🔥. Eso es lo que quiere un Gaznate hambriento y últimamente Vips le ha cogido el punto. En esta ocasión nos probé:
Carbonara de Soria. Sabrosos espaguetis con salsa carbonara, torreznos de Soria crujientes, trocitos de bacon y lascas de queso parmesano.
Curry-albóndigas Ibéricas. Jugosas albóndigas de cerdo ibérico al curry masala sobre combinación de arroz salvaje y basmati, acompañadas de un rico pan de pita.
Dos platos internacionales perfectamente españolizados.

Le doy 5⭐ sólo por el servicio, de verdad se esmeran por hacerte sentir cómoda/o. La comida depende de cada quien, yo me pedí este Green power que para quienes les gusta la comida saludable está realmente bien, luego el ambiente es otra cosa en el sentido que el local tiene mucho eco y si todo el mundo está hablando al mismo tiempo puede resultar un poco molesto.

Por 30 euros comimos a reventar, y tomamos refresco ilimitado. Comimos costillas y ensalada Louisiana, ambos de muy buena calidad y CANTIDAD.

Los nuevos helados son lo mejorcito para merendar. Recomendamos este roll que mete dos bolas de helado de yogur y de frutos del bosque en un croissant con sirope de chocolate blanco.
¿Es caro? Sí. ¿Está muy franquiciado? También. ¿La app es un poco tostón? Bastante.
Pero bueno, con lo bueno y lo malo, el Vips siempre es la vieja confiable :)

El servicio excelente. Nos atendió una chica llamada Janet muy atenta, simpatica y super amable La comida nos encantó. Pedimos varias cosas, sin duda estaban buenísimas. Calidad precio un 10 y además nos quedamos llenos. Volveremos sin dudarlo.
