My first meal in the area and it was amazing. I legitimately think about this meal every other week. There are so many options and items to choose from and the staff will help you build your own plate. I got the ropa vieja with black beans and yucca fries. There’s inside seating with many tables and quaint decor, I definitely want to try more at Abuela’s cocina. There’s some parking in the strip, be cautious of lunchtime peak hours!

The food here is always amazing. The coconut rice is delicious and the chiccarones are wonderful. Eat up, Gainesville with home cooked delicious meals at a great price!

Great Food! Had the coconut rice, black beans, fried yucca, and mojo pork. It was exceptional! The real highlight being the pulled pork and coconut rice. Otherwise a very clean, low-key place to get a big plate of food for a good price. If your a fan of Colombian, Dominican, or Cuban food, you should try this place!

This place is absolutely mind blowing. Has to be some of the best Hispanic food I have had in my 5 years of residency in Florida. I would give toe curling head for this food any day of the week. Highly highly highly recommend it

I replaced going to Chipotle with this place. I love the Ropa Vieja and coconut rice (hit or miss on it's availability). Their plantains and yucca are most often good!

This food is absolutely delicious. We grab the food on our last day in Gainesville. We were not disappointed. The staff is very nice. You can take a look at the food to decide what your want. Variety of rice and meats and additions. It's fresh and hot. Very delicious. The yuca is very good as well. I really recommend this place.
