Goodies

Had a wonderful lunch at goodies. Pulled Pork (Hog on a Bun) Yams, Collard greens, Mac and cheese, sweet bread, chess pie and short rib tips. The menu is on a chalk board to order from. We dined in. Price was fine. They offered extra sauce with our leftovers to go. And checked on us often. A down home feel and maybe a wobbly table at a great bbq spot.

The rib tips were cooked to perfection. The hot BBQ sauce was an excellent level of spicy. The person working the counter took the time to explain the menu options to me and gave a fair assessment of the choices. They made sure to let me know there were desert options available. The wait was kind of long, and the sides seemed to be from a can, but nothing would stop me from coming back the next time I'm in Cincinnati! The food was delicious. The sweet bread is a MUST have. And I got three meals out of the small tips!

We've only ordered twice so far from Goodies, and both times, the food was great! I don't eat red meat, and the fact that they cook their greens and green beans with a turkey base really excited me and didn't disappoint. My son (14) has gotten the mild mett both times and really enjoyed it. My mom had the mild mett the first time, and the quarter chicken, wing and breast this time, and liked it. They have deserts that you can't find in many places around the city. I've had their chess pie both times, and outside of having it homemade before, this is the only other time that I've been able to enjoy it. The prices are very reasonable. We met a few of the staff this evening, and both were friendly and polite. From my experience, I would highly recommend that you try Goodies restaurant!!
