Izzy's

The woman who waited on us was very kind, patient, clean and thorough. She was screamed at by another customer who quite honestly was mentally unstable yet even so, she just stood there, apologized and took ownership for whatever it was the customer thought she did wrong. Not only did she NOT doing anything wrong, she's worked there for years! It was embarrassing seeing someone acting so unstable but she took it well. We just wanted to say we appreciate all the people that work there - especially the waitress !

If you ask for your potato pancake crispy, they'll make you a fresh one. Or if you even ask for a fresh one, they'll make one. They're that eager to please. As a lot of the food is prepared in store, they take a perverse kind of pride in the precieved joy of their costumers. Although if you come in right before closing you'll bare witness to looks of rage filled with unfathomable loathing, capable of melting the sanity of all but the bravest men and women.

The food as with most Izzy's locations is great, but the staff here is what really set this place apart from anywhere else for me. They were very friendly, bringing a homely atmosphere right to my table. On top of that, they didn't hesitate to assist handicapped guests, helping them with their walkers, and even walking them out. Whenever I'm in the area again, this will probably be my go-to restaurant.

Besides corned beef or pastrami sandwiches, they also have a terrific beef sandwich called the Tommy which is one of my absolute favorites. They also have a terrific fried fish sandwich call the codfather which I highly recommend. There is a turkey sandwich on the menu that includes cream cheese and cranberry relish that is quite tasty as well. If you are into dill pickles, they have the best dill pickles in town, and they will bring you an entire bowl full of them if you eat in. You can also buy a jar of them while you're there. The place is clean, the service is excellent, and a few of the locations even have drive-thrus.
