Cafe Kafofo

Great egg sandwiches and cookies, but average pastries. I’ve been meaning to try this place for a while and finally got the chance to visit. Got their egg sandwiches, pastries, and the famous chocolate chip cookie for breakfast. I opted for all the additional toppings available for the sandwich, and I enjoyed every bit of it. The soft egg patties were amazing, and the chocolate chip cookies were also great as advertised. However, their croissants were just simple and basic. Better than the ones were grocery stores but less flaky and buttery than the ones from Tatte. Given the price, I expected a bit more, but it was certainly disappointing to find out that their pastries weren’t so great. Nevertheless, I would probably visit here occasionally to get their egg sandwiches again.

A fun combination of a baking supply store and cafe. The store itself sells a variety of bakeware and baking ingredients including some harder to find ones like black treacle and muscovado sugar. They also stock a variety of grains that can be milled into flour for your baking needs. Also sells flour mills and other gadgets. As for the cafe they stock a variety of baked goods along with some more unique in-house baked items. They also serve a hot egg sandwich on a baked brioche bun that has the softest and creamiest eggs I've ever eaten. Absolutely must stop by to grab a coffee and sandwich while browsing their wares.

So much to say about Elmendorf. It replaced a City favorite so I was a little worried. But nothing to worry about. The owners are so nice and always enjoy a quick chat when I go in. Pastries and great, egg sandwich as well. So many great baking supplies in there. I've picked up a bunch of cookie cutters for my kids. So this place is worth visiting .
