This is an amazing restaurant, friendly staff and food is on another level! Was so good we visited twice on our weekend visit, can't recommend enough, a must on your visit to Barcelona, you will not be disappointed x😀
Un super resto type gastro à Barcelone où les serveurs sont vraiment au top et la nourriture excellente ;-)
Oh. My. Good. Gawd.
If you're in Barcelona, please come to Sensi!! Please!! On my last night in Spain, I wanted to end on a bang and boy did I hit the jackpot!
From the drinks, to the customer service and the food!! *insert drool* Everything was to die for!! I wish I could have eaten my way through the entire menu!
Here's the short of it:
Sangria - get it!!
Passion fruit mojito - GET IT!!
Oxtail mini burger - you better get it!
Ravioli - if you don't get this...re-evaluate your life
Risotto - GET. IT.
If I could have eaten more, I would have. But I figured being rolled out of a restaurant on my final night in Barcelona might not wanna be my final memory.
Come, Bebe. La Vida Es Breve Delicious, lively, yet intimate Tapas spot in the Gothic Quarter. What made our experience special was the interaction we had with the manager, Alex, and chef, Miguel. Alex's energy was inviting, warm, and passionate; he gladly wrote down nightlife recommendations for us and offered shots on the house at the end of our meal
Tell us your favorite Tapas place in the comments We need your help hunting down the next spot!
Hits :
Classic Beef Fillet w/ Dauphinoise Potatoes: easily our favorite. You can smell the buttery sauce as soon as it's on the table, and it surely tastes amazing. The steak is cooked at a perfect medium-rare. Just YUM!
Patates Bravas: this is seriously our favorite patates bravas we had in Barcelona. We love the skin-on potatoes, and the sauce... absolutely delicious!!
*Iberic Chorizo Croquettes w/ Allioli: this one really hit the spot. The allioli made it all
Cheesecake w/ Dulce de Leche: easily the best dessert choice you can make here
Sexy Sensi: our absolute favorite drink here!
Misses :
Seafood Paella: do yourself a favor a save your paella cravings for other specialty places (@labarcadelsalamanca, @xiringuitoescriba).
Yuzu Catalan Cream: if you like the yuzu taste, you'd probably appreciate this much more! This fragrant and citrus flavor was not a hit for our group.

First off, such friendly service. Loved the atmosphere, everyone just hanging out munching on tapas. The inside can get crowded, tables and chairs are close together. We came on a monday night and it got crowded fast. From Google, we made a reservation for 6:30pm (1830 for the Europeans and military people), and it was pretty empty. By 7pm all the seats were filled.
Ordered tapas style and everything does not come at once. Usually two at a time, but everything is cooking while you're trying the first tapas so it's all fresh and hot. So fun experience to just sip wine and nibble on food, but not a place at all if you're in a rush.
The tapas are shown in the attached pics, and while everything was decent, nothing made me say "I need to come back for this dish!". Fun first experience though.
Stumbled into Sensi and was lucky enough to be seated immediately. What a great time :)
The food was so delightful. Lots of umami and salt and smoke. The tuna with smoking rosemary was such a treat, though it seems it may be overpowering, it gives just the right flavor to the fish. The iberico ham is of course delicious. The mini paella was yummy, but not great. And the leek soufflé was not really a soufflé in my opinion, as it was quite heavy. Scallops were wonderful!
It is tapas style so bring an empty tummy, and a friend or two, and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere. Staff buzz about giving a lively energy with out anything feeling stressful. Some may not like it but I was thrilled to sit in front of the kitchen. I was able to watch, and smell every dish come out as two large men worked in perfect unison in the tiny kitchen. I'd love to post tte awesome time lapse video but I'm not sure how.
It might not be the most fancy or expensive tapas spot in Barcelona or even in the Gòtic area, but I thought it was great. If you're looking for great tapas I'd definitely recommended stopping by!
We made reservations at Sensi about two months prior to arriving in Barcelona. Our reason for the selection of this particular restaurant was because of the diverse Tapas menu selections.
Sensi is located in the characteristic Gothic district of Barcelona. We decide to walk to the restaurant from our hotel concierge recommendation. What we found quite amusing is that there were many locations named Sensi within yards from each other and I believe they were owned by the same group.
Once we discovered the right location, we found the restaurant ambiance to be romantic and quite cozy. Sensi's dining room has stone walls, creative lighting, and wonderful choice of background music to compliment your dining experience.
We decided on a various selection of Tapas to meet all of our party's interests. The duck pastry, grilled king prawns, vegetable and sweet chili, and the tuna tartar were all fabulous. In fact the tapas so good that we continued to order additional tapas.
In conclusion we love our dining experience at Sensi and highly recommend this restaurant.
A hit and definitive thumbs up!! Following the reviews on Yelp, Sensi was unquestionably on the to-go list. The place is small (but still "gigantic" compared to what I visited in the subsequent week) with neighboring tables back to back. It doesn't matter.
Hector, the waiter, offered excellent recommendations with about 2-3 items per person: without any exceptions, the food was suuuuper delicious, nicely presented (for example on slate blackboards), and simply a joy.
Examples included Fresh Truffle Ravioli, Seabass Ceviche, Octopus oven-baked with caramelized onions, Tuna Tataki, Brocoli Cream with smoked Tofu and Yuca chips, Coca Bread, Chef-style Brava Potatoes. It would have been enough! But fortunately, I did not resist the Espresso Martini (wow: superb!!) and the Cheesecake with Dulce Leche (the best!!).
Tip 1: Don't miss out on this one.
Tip 2: Apparently, there are other Sensi establishments opening up that probably are worth trying.
Tip 3: The waiter advised AGAINST the paella option as for that specific purpose he suggested other restaurants rather than a tapas-sized micro paella ...
Sensi was the absolute highlight of our trip to Barcelona. A gastronomy experience like no other, brought a sophisticated flare to typical Spanish tapas that was anything but typical. The ambiance of Sensi tapas was excellent too--exposed brick and no
BS, it was a tiny yet charming space that buzzed with activity and embraced its excellence without pretentiousness.
To the meal:
The jamón ibérico and los pimientos de padrón were not to be missed. At the same time, there was also an assortment of non-traditional offerings on the menu. The lamb slider was so deliciously tender, well-seasoned and delicately peeling apart in your mouth. The aubergine atop of a golden flaky pan tartan was delicious, as was the cool and refreshing tuna tartare with creamy avocado (which introduced an Asian flare to the meal). The burrata cheese over eggplant with an olive tapenade was also sublime, but I'm of course the opinion that it's hard to have a bad burrata. These tiny plates were all showstoppers--if we had discovered this spot earlier, we might've gone everyday of our trip!
Things to know:
1. make reservations in advance. These seats book up fast. Email the restaurant a week ahead to secure your spot!
2. There are three different "Sensi" restaurants, all related and in close proximity to each other, so don't fret if you arrive at the wrong establishment. However, good to know to save yourself some time!
3. Accepts credit card, and serves small plates, so come prepared to share and without the expectation or ordering your own entree!
- Sensi was a true culinary experience that shone bright among a strong sampling of Spanish cuisine. 10/10 would recommend to anyone to dine here when they find themselves in Barcelona!
Sensi is a great staple tapas spot popular with expats and locals alike here in Barcelona. Sensi has 4 restaurants I believe but I've only tried this one. It is not super high end but it is good quality and offers many tasty options. It is in a nice location for walking since there are lots of little bars nearby and it is in the proximity of other neighborhoods too. It can seem sketchy at night but it's just the way the small streets feel. Anyway, the service can be a bit...slow. This is regular for Spain so get used to it and call on the waiters if you need something. It's a pretty small restaurant and they're picky with who they serve (they turn down people without reservations even with open tables) so make sure you have a reservation just in case. The staff is super nice though, and everyone works together to make sure things are going smoothly. I've come here a few times and my favorite dishes have been the classic pan con tomate, patatas bravas, croquetas, along with the "sexy" cocktail and dulce de leche cheesecake. These were by bar our favorite dishes so make sure you are ordering the right thing! Overall I would return again for a nice staple tapas meal.
Came here somewhat before the rush without reservations and had to wait a bit before we got seated at the bar. After ordering the manager told us that there was a cancellation and moved us to a table. This place is tiny so I would highly reco a reservation for parties 3+.
We ordered the potatoes with some aioli sauce, the cheese plate w/ raspberry spread, the classic beef w/ gravy, the truffle ravioli, the seafood paella, and the mini oxtail burger. The stars of the night or dinner were the mini oxtail burger and the classic beef.
The oxtail burger was tiny but the taste and impression it left on us was mighty. The patty was nicely seasoned and circular and was melt in your mouth deliciousness! The bun was nicely toasted as well.
As for the classic beef dish, each element itself had a strong flavor and I was concerned the dish was going to be too much for me but glad I was wrong. The beef was melt in your mouth amazing topped with this amazing black peppery gravey with a thinly sliced bed of potatoes(almost potato mash-like feel to it). Eat this with each element and it is just a wonderful harmony of tastiness!
The potato plate was a perfect starter and the cheese plate too. The cheeses varied, but none were particularly sharp or too strong. The raspberry spread complimented the cheeses well. The truffle ravioli was good and the truffle flavor was just enough for those who don't like the truffle taste to enjoy the dish. use the bread to dip in the leftover sauce. The seafood paella was no bueno (too salty). The server noticed our dislike right away and asked us about it. The manager said it was on the house and apologized right away. Our meal ended with a shot of a lemon drop like shot with the manager.
We were very surprised with the level of attentiveness and awesomeness of the service and staff despite how busy they were. The manager looked like he could be Orland Bloom's younger brother and our main server oozed of the cool girl from school vibe. We definitely enjoyed our experience here!
If you're in Barcelona and want the best Tapas ever this is it! Incredible service, great wine, and unbelievable food.
Barcelona has a ton of Tapas restaurants but don't miss this one!
La atención al cliente es Espetacular. El personal es muy amable y atento. Las comidas son de verdad espetaculares. Nos ha sorprendido. De regreso a Barcelona, volveré por ahí. Precios asequibles.
