Summit Coffee Co.

Having visited AVL multiple times over the years, we have explored a number of coffee shops looking for our favorites. I can't speak to the beans as well as some, but the coffee, flavors and overall vibe/ambiance at Summit always has coming back and is our consistent favorite! The locations has free wifi, ample seating indoors and outside, and has housemade flavorings (a major preference of mine). We always appreciate their offerings and service is decently quick. Only request/recommendation would be that I wish they had cup options for those getting cold drinks - I appreciate places who have non to-go cups for cold coffees so that I had less waste. Highly suggest grabbing a coffee and walking around the area to see the art on buildings or some local galleries (just down the road a bit).

I came here to work for a few hours while passing through the area to get some work done. Though it was crowded, I easily found a spot with a plug for my laptop. The baristas were very friendly. The latte was made well and tasted great. There were a few pastries left, so I opted for the coffee cake - it was good. I liked that they had water out on the counter as well. There is plenty of outdoor seating for a nice day too. I’d highly recommend this coffee shop if you’re in the area!

Such a cute spot! Sadly, they were completely sold out of their pastries today. But I was able to try some of their coffee and it was not disappointing!! I’m glad they do not charge for milk substitutes like many other coffee shops do. Even though there was a line, our order came out fairly quick. I’m sure the employees were feeling overwhelmed with the crowed because I could see it on their faces and one employee had a poor attitude. Understandably, we all have bad days so I’m sure today was just one of those days.
