Shake Shack Ann Arbor

I love shake shack. So this visit disappointed me. I got the regular single shack, and the patty was way drier than usual. The fries were disappointing as well. I don’t know why, but the oil must be old or something, it smelled completely different from usual shake shack fries and not tasty at all. There’s unpleasant bitterness to it and that never happened in the past. I only could eat 3-4 fries. It was that bad. And I am genuinely sad that I have to think about if I wanna visit this location again. ( and I mean the other is in Detroit so way too long trip for a burger)

Great spot to take the kids...or go alone. Ordering is simple with a nice big menu to review as you wait. Food comes up fast and hot. Burgers and fries were tasty. I went with the buffalo chicken sandwich and that was really good too. Obviously, the shakes are killer. No complaints there from me or my kids.

Today I visited Shake shack on its grand opening. The new Ann Arbor store is 3rd one in Michigan. They have everything offered at the other locations — classic burgers, hot dogs, crinkle cut fries, shakes and fresh-made frozen custard. The space is lovely with high ceilings with exposed metal beams. Lots of glass windows let in light. And all of the furniture is very environmentally friendly... I understand the tables are from reclaimed bowling alley lanes (I captured that in my pics) The burgers are juicy and seasoned well. We ordered a couple of the double smoke shacks and a couple orders of crinkle-cut fries. Adding in a shake and a large soda got us to 35 bucks with tax. So yeah it’s a bit pricey. The quality is great though. I only wish the crinkle cut fries were hotter in temperature. I think they were making huge batches of fries and keeping them warm to handle this evening’s huge crowds, so I will definitely be back to give them another try. I will also order booze next time.
