The first place I went to when I moved to DC. A wonderful spot and I’m sad to see it go.

Best breakfast sandwiches/wraps. The Italian is enough to feed an army. Highly recommend.

Sandwiches are great and quick. Been here 3+ times and it's been awesome every time. Great alcohol selection too

You honestly cannot find a better sandwich. Every time I order anything here, I'm left wanting more. My favorite is the BLTA. Worth every penny. Whether you're looking for lunch or the perfect meal for a picnic, this is the place to come to.

Great neighborhood spot! I’ve loved every sandwich I’ve gotten here (especially the Cubano), they’ve got a solid beer and wine selection, and the team working here is so friendly. Love having Prego right down the street!

Wonderful energy. Very respectful staff and even more delicious wines and foods. Bought my mom the Udon. She usually doesn't like spicy foods but the Udon was perfect

I've lived in this neighborhood for almost 11 years and when I moved here, I used to go to Prego for their amazing sandwiches and the occasional 6-pack. But then something happened and the sandwiches went away and the world was sad. But I randomly checked Google/Yelp for sandwiches nearby and saw that there were NEW reviews from here talking about their sandwiches. So I walked down and got myself an Italian. Now let's be clear, the sandwich is over $13 with tax. But, it's a really good sandwich and depending on your gluttony, you can easily save half for dinner or lunch tomorrow. That's what I did.
The Italian was stuffed with meat and cheese and sweets (or hots, or both) and it was glorious. The bread was wonderful. I have this debate with my girlfriend about hard rolls vs soft rolls. I'm a soft roll person because I like the perfect bite and she apparently prefers dental bills. But this sandwich from Prego had warm crispy bread that was also easy to squeeze into my piehole and it was amazing.
Definitely go here for a sandwich. All day. Any day.

Liquor store with a wonderful deli counter. Service can be slow depending on the volume of customers, but if I want a sandwich it's worth waiting a bit to go here. As other people have mentioned, they've changed a lot, for the better

Update: Lots of positive changes here recently (possibly new ownership/management?) - the store is much cleaner, the shelves are organized better, the deli counter has been expanded, and the deli is now open later. Their cubano sandwich is solid.
Previous review: Good selection of wines, though the interior temperature of the store on hotter days makes me wonder if they’re generally kept at a temperature that maintains quality. Deli is small but offers huge portions. Ordered the Italian sandwich they offer and was shocked by the size, but overall found it way too salty - suspect their dressing blend goes a bit overboard on the salt. Will return to buy wine or beer, but unsure about if I’ll give the deli another shot.

One of the best sandwiches ever!!!! I get the turkey club on rye, my dad gets it on croissant and my sis gets the cubano. My mom likes them ALL. Great place for lunch. Sandwiches run about $10.
