Ben's Upstairs was pretty good! I've only been here once but I definitely recommend the half smoke. The half smoke was tasty and the chili and cheese were the perfect topping for the half smoke. Upstairs there is a roof top for the smokers. I really enjoyed my time at this location.

Pretty surprised. Service slow but the bar tender actually came out to serve us at a table. Super cool and helpful. The food I was skeptical but, it was very good. Flavorful. Good price and decent servings. New menu and the Mac’n cheese is gone but, the food is good. Definitely will return.

The upper bar is a real nice place to get a drink and watch the city go by. Last time I was there the roof bar was closed for a private party thrown by the owner. She invited us to get a drink at the lower bar and bring it up and join them. That was classy.

Loved the view of the neighborhood and active streets below. Went for happy hour(5-8), or HH as my son calls it. The avocado toast was delicious and filling for both of us. We ordered off the HH menu, unbelievable prices. My son really enjoyed the wings.

Cool calm and nice spot to come enjoy off of H St. Def a recommended place for events or just to have a good drink. The food was superb chicken and waffles was what i order. The chicken was definitely breaded to perfection and just as tender as if it was picked from a farm that day. The waffle was crispy soft and moist. Service was fast and worth tipping.

This is a very nice place to come chill. My group had the French toast, steak & eggs, shrimp burger, and shrimp & grits. Everything was really good except the shrimp & grits were just ok, I've had a lot better. But overall it was great.

I agree with another comment concerning the portion size of the Shrimp and grits, it was good, but not enough food if you are hunger. I've posted a pic. The service was good, it started off rocky, but got better. Maybe too many people or just distracted by their friends. FYI the bathrooms are unisex!

I have hosted two events at Ben's Upstairs. Most recently for a surprise birthday party on the rooftop. Manuel and April were a joy to work with as well as the wait staff. They were super accommodating and treated the guest of honor very well. The rooftop was a beautiful backdrop and the food and music added to the celebratory ambience.
I suggest asking in advance about how to reserve the rooftop, ordering food platters and information on happy hour specials if you are hosting an event. All of the above were affordable and made my guests feel even better!
