My fiancee and I are in DC just visiting and staying at an airbnb. Coming off the metro we wanted to have a drink walking distance from our place and we came across Wisdom. You don't need wisdom to realize this is a great place to grab a drink. Couldn't praise our bartender, Donna, more. She made us feel unbelievably welcomed, as if we were regulars after our first drink. It's cozy, friendly, great selection of gin (it is a gin bar after all) and also provides other spirits/wine/beer to cater to your needs. Check it out and you won't regret it. Lastly, if you are wise enough to give this place a chance, try the little games at the bar. Made it to Pluto twice, see if you can too.

Wisdom definitely qualifies as a gin joint! Loads of choices of gin and gin-based cocktails as well as a full bar. This is a neighbourhood bar which attracts a wide-ranging crowd. It is also veteran-owned, with a monthly comedy night with an all-veteran lineup. There is also a small outdoor area with chairs and tables.

What a gem! If you love gin, this is the place to go. The owner must be a true connoisseur because the gin list is 3 pages long and each kind has an elaborate description. It’s quite cheap too, for $7 you can get a gin and tonic. The bar has a nice relaxed speakeasy vibe and there even is complimentary popcorn!

Usually a fun place for anything gin. They felt a little over extend by trying to offer a dinner menu. In principle, this a great idea. Partner with other local establishments. My only complaint is when the restaurant next door had some kind of emergency, nobody told us until an hour in. But they comped the food and the booze made everything all right. So all's well that ends well?

My date here was wonderful primarily due to the lovely cocktails made by wisdom. The gin cocktails are my favorites. They are a gin bar after all so they better have some good gin drinks. The waitress was very friendly. I loved our conversation. This bar is the only bar I have found in DC that reminds me of a hipster Berlin bar.
