I LOVE it here. I enjoy the soulful cooked meals, the service is very nice and I especially enjoy the other patrons who have been coming here for years and years like myself. I like to sit and have a few laughs . It's a great, fun place to sit,and enjoy. Take out is superb as well. The owner is so kind and I miss his mother as she adored me.

Best Rueben in the City...Tender meat sliced fresh everyday...

This is a great family owned restaurant that makes some great sandwiches. We tried 3 different ones and couldn't go wrong. Definitely stop here.

Absolutely love the customer service!!! The staff is beyond friendly & always gets my order, right. It’s like my grandma home cooked food and that says alot.

Nice hole in the walk that I've been going to for decades. I love the food from the big sandwiches to the generous dinner plates. Very friendly atmosphere.

Very nice deli, amazing for the location and how the place looks-- it is a nondescript and unassuming hole in the wall-- and quite good for DC! Prices are well within acceptable and the sandwich I got (pastrami on rye) was over-stuffed and worth the ten bucks.
I went to this little place back in the 90s and was not overly impressed. The quality has gone up and I look forward to trying a couple of other deli faves. They have yellow and spicy mustard, if you want to make the sandwiches pop even more, consider using your own mustard-- maybe a horseradish and spice!
UPDATE 8FEB22: Still AMAZING!

Loved most of all that it is a black-owned business. The environment was very inviting and the food was superb. Even the regular customers felt more at home that day than I would like to assume everyday they come there. Be sure to come back for more. Looking forward to it!!

1st time eating in DC! From at Atlanta I'm happy to say this place was great as soon as I walked in the door. Due to covid, they provided mask upon entry. The ladies behind the counter are all so sweet, I felt like I was at home asking Aunite for a sandwich. As I left with a meal I felt was going to be awesome, the guy at the check out was so kind to my family. I rarely leave reviews, these guys are doing a great job... to sum it UP... Food was AMAZING, Great customer service.

The place does not have aesthetics or great service. But their food was great. The pastrami sandwich is amazing (5/5). The French fries smelled amazing but didn’t have much seasoning though..! They were fluffy not crunchy. The place was packed with people in a small space which scared me a little (2/5). But I guess it was everyday regulars. Overall don’t go expecting anything else apart from good food. They have parking but they don’t take cards.

This place is a TRUE gem and I am so happy to see that it appears to have survived the pandemic. Way back in the late '90s I worked at a K Street law firm and many lawyers would whine there is no good corn beef or pastrami in DC, blah blah blah New York New York...one day I brought in pastrami sandwiches from this spot and none of them could believe how good they were. This has been a "secret" spot in DC for decades and it's not just "Jewish" food but rather everything you'd want at a great diner. Bring your appetite and good humor because folks are friendly and local, you'll get to talking.
