Colada Shop

Little cafe with cheerful interiors and upbeat Spanish music. The guava and cheese pastelito is served freshly heated: flakey, crisp layers, with a sweet guava jam and slightly salty soft cheese go perfectly together. I would have liked if the cheese was slightly more salty (or even slightly spicy!) but that’s really just a personal preference. The Chocolate de la Abuela had no depth (kinda just tasted like Swiss Miss). The cinnamon in the foam was a nice touch, but not worth the price tag overall.

Colada Shop is a frequent favorite of mine for takeout, first dates, or in this case a weeknight happy hour meetup. Everything is reasonably priced, the staff is welcoming / friendly, and the food / drinks are fantastic! This month (Dec 2023) they have a rotating holiday cocktail menu, with each week featuring two different drinks facing off to win the most votes. I really liked the pomegranate spiced marg-like drink! Will definitely be back to check out the other drinks later this month. The upstairs bar is filled with holiday decorations for a more festive vibe 🎄

Stopped in for a latte and cuban sandwich with extra meat. Sat on the rooftop and enjoyed the mid-day sun. The latte was delicious and the cuban sandwich was also top notch. The bread was really special. All of the other food being prepared in this bright and colorful little kitchen smelled amazing and looked great as well. I look forward to a return trip.

We live really close by and come here for take out frequently and rooftop drinks here and there. It’s sooo good and the prices have gone up in the last two years as they have everywhere but it still remains a fairly affordable place to eat in the neighborhood. I do wish they had more than one vegan option - if I want anything I have to get the full veggie Cuban (and remove some toppings). My meat eating boyfriend loves the empanadas but even all of the ones with veggies have cheese - my only complaint!!
