Visiting from LA and this was one of the few places in DC where I felt comfortable. There's enough diversity in there, you won't feel uncomfortable as a minority.
Bar had plenty of seating and it wasn't packed. Loved it.
Bartender was also the waiter. He was very attentive and kind. Drinks were good and strong. Food was good old-fashioned bar food. Kitchen does close later in the night!

I've only been here twice but each time was an enjoyable experience. Great bar food, down to earth bartenders, and a great social spot to chill or watch a football/basketball game. I aim to become a regular.

Laid back little spot in residential Brookland. Happy hour is currently 4 - 7 but the prices aren't that discounted. The menu is also really small. But it's a great neighborhood spot and you'll like everyone who works there and rolls in and out.

Rustic and fresh this place feels warm and welcoming. I enjoyed a few of the specials on their happy hour. They have alcoves on the side which create some privacy for people - a nice bonus.

Fantastic. Cool digs, small but decent beer list, but the food was what surprised me. Cauliflower grits were phenomenal, and the steel plate burger was fantastic. At medium rare, mine was delicious. My friend got hers medium well, which is a sin, but she got just what she asked for: an over cooked blackened burnt tasting burger. (eye roll) so they'll serve what you ask for, even if it's ridiculous.
Also, the fries were good and the onion rings different from any other I've had before. Weren't my fav, personally, but you could tell they're not cheap frozen rings; they're legit.

This is a restaurant review, I can't speak for the bar. It's a good place, but I don't choose to go there when it's my call, as it's just not as good as the other options in the area. The service is always just a bit slow, the food is often a bit salty or a step below where it should be flavor-wise. Beer selection is just fine. Again, I like Steel Plate, but for me it's just a half step behind the other places in the neighborhood.

Walked into this really cool looking 2 level bar with the metal door in the BrookLand area on Thangiving Eve. The bartender Kenny made really great drinks that were nit expensive @ all. I got great conversation from the other patrons as well as the bartender and they played really great throwbck music. This is a place that I will DEFINETLY go back and hang out @. The exposed brick adds a really cool look 2 the place and they also serve food there too.

I love the Lamb Sandwich, house potatoes were crispy outside and creamy inside, sprinkled with finely sliced shallots (or spring onions). The Tempura Kale, OK, batter did not taste or crisp like tempura.
My guest liked the Orange Kefir (dessert). Flavor was very light and texture somewhat grainy.
But I would go again!
