Taco Shack

Interesting take on Tacos. This place is just about the opposite of what I'd call a "shack". It has a very modern, clean aesthetic. You wouldn't even know it was a Mexican food place except for two sombreros on the soda coolers. The food was spot-on Mexican. I especially like the Chicken Tinga. The carne asada was very tender, not chewy like many other places. The chicken quesadilla had really good flavor 👌. Everything came on flour tortillas, and we weren't asked so I don't know if corn is an option. It seems like they use a lot of cheese. Perhaps you like that? I don't so will have to ask them to omit it next time. There is both inside and outside seating available. If you are in the area the Taco Shack is worth giving a try.

Best tacos just about anywhere. Period. Go for the deluxe tacos; they are worth it. Don't miss the drunken steak. Happy to see they now have a second location in Tempe. Their selection of hot sauces is substantial and we appreciate that the have quality bottled sodas (such as Mexican Coke) in addition to the fountain drinks.

Great service, and the place was very clean. The battered fish tacos were the best I have had in Az. My partner had a carne asada burrito and was not fond of having beans and rice inside the burrito. Had he known that he would have requested something else. He did enjoy it, albeit disappointed. Perhaps a description on the menu would be appropriate. The drunken taco was really good too. We live close so we will be revisiting this cozy shack.

This is the new 2nd location that just opened about 2 weeks ago. So glad it did. The tacos are great! I personally love the chicken tinga tacos and the red chili Colorado cause I like them with a little kick of spice. Sergio who took our order is helpful and nice. The owner, Jonathan is super cool and is all about serving good quality food. I recommend as one of the best taco spots for a quick bite in Tempe! Can't wait to try their enchiladas.
