Tacks has had my heart since i lived in SI. I remember saving up to get a lunch special of general tso's and pork fried rice and eating it up faster than you can say scrumlicious! Tacks is still family owned and operated from what i can tell (and they work hard), flying in from the west coast to eat a childhood guilty pleasure of mind did not dissapoint. Best local chinese takeout place in staten island bar none.

Many people have been saying that the service has went downhill ever since new owners have taken over. Annie has really been trying her best to continue Mr.Tacks services despite her language barrier. The price has gone up, but the food remains delicious. I had the honor to have the cook make a mix of shrimp and beef in curry sauce for me. It was good and saucy!

My daughter likes the Chicken Fried Rice
I like the Pork Fried Rice.

I have just ordered a beef egg foo young and I've got to say it was a mistake. Instead of crispy, it was mushy, like seriously mushy. Everything was drenched in soy sauce, and that was the only flavor I could get out of it, including the pork fried rice, which would've been perfect if it wasn't for the overwhelming soy sauce and grease. First and last time I ordered from this place.

We ordered the seafood delight and dumplings. The dumping looked homemade and were delicious along with the seafood delight. All the staff was super nice and everything was hot and fast. We will be coming back here soon :)
