The service is great. The atmosphere is funky and homie. The serving sizes are large. The food is a bit expensive for what you get. I think the sausage seems low end. Seems like they cut corners on the food quality for larger portions. I don't think I'll go back. This is my third blah experience.

My wife was looking for a good breakfast and when she saw The Pump Cafe was famous for its Raspberry Stuffed French Toast that is where we went. We were quickly seated since there were only a couple empty tables. My wife did get the stuffed French toast and really liked them. I got one of standards, Chicken Fried Steak and eggs and found it very good. I was surprised to only get one slice of toast instead of the more common, two, but it was enough food. The coffee was really good, from a local roaster, and well worth it. Service was good, diner level, which is to be expected. We might be back, especially if my wife thinks about the stuffed French toast.

Great People! Meh Oatmeal. I usually don't leave poor reviews, but I think the management could make some simple improvements.
1. FRONT DOOR The parking lot is obviously the parking lot, but the front door is obscure. I walked around back looking for the front door.
2. OPEN KITCHEN When you first enter, all you see is the open kitchen. There was no one to tell me where to go until I rounded the corners. Some simple walls and/or doors would funnel folks to the dining room.
3. OLD OATMEAL I like a good oatmeal. I will pay extra for a good oatmeal. I was all excited when I saw all the yummy fixings... but it was not fresh. It was not a yummy pudding. It was a clump of congealed mashed potatoes.
I think it *was* fresh a few hours ago. Maybe at open. I came at 10am.
This could be kept warm, like a rice cooker, or at least made more often. I would pay $1 more for a fresh batch.
The fixings were amazing! They just aren't a meal by themselves. I recommend either improving it or removing it from the menu.
4. STAFF WAS AMAZING! Give them a raise (I'd pay extra for that, too)
Spinach Chicken salad was THE BOMB!

I've been here almost a dozen times and I've never been disappointed. The building may not look like much from the outside, but their food is really good. I typically order breakfast (which they serve ALL DAY!) when I visit but friends and family have ordered burgers and sandwiches off their lunch menu, coming away very satisfied.
Just for example; they have a tasty stuffed french toast, good eggs Benedict with real ham & sauce (not that nasty fake stuff), very generous omelettes, and a huge breakfast burrito.
Wait staff has always been polite and accommodating, with friendly attitudes.
It's a cozy place but they'll find a spot for you! They even have a small patio for outdoor dining in good weather.

Amazing corned beef hash and stuffed French toast

Both my wife and I ordered omelets. They used to be 3 egg and apparently they now have become 2 egg omelets, so a little disappointed. Less bang for the buck than before. The quality was there though
