I used to love peacock. The food does not taste the same. The spare ribs were all fat and no flavoring. The rice was gross. The chicken fingers are not the same. I threw away my food. Only thing I ate was the egg roll but even that was just okay. I’m very sad this place used to be the BEST. 😩

I was not able to consume this food. The fried rice, a pretty basic order, looked like/tasted truly awful, it is literally black! It seems like they have never cleaned their grill. Everything else seemed concerning to eat and I unfortunately had to throw away most of my meal. I was sick about 20 minutes after trying to eat :/ I hope they clean up their food.

This place has been a family favorite for the past thirty years. It was simply the best Chinese food around, hands down, any day of the week, and twice on Sunday! Over the years, I’ve taken scores of family, friends, and clients there for dine-in, and have called ahead for takeout, more times than I can possibly count. I recommended this place constantly, to literally everyone! This was also our family Christmas Eve takeout tradition for years! For so long, they did SO many things right, that even a very occasional hiccup, such as forgetting to put a container of duck sauce in the bag, didn’t seem to matter much. However, the last two times I have gotten takeout here, something was very definitely, noticeably off! Curious as to why things did not seem the same, I called the restaurant only to discover that ownership had recently changed. Unfortunately, I knew that at some point, this day would come, and I suppose in the back of my mind, I had been preparing for it, as everything changes eventually. However, this fact does not make it any less disappointing! This place had been a gem among stones, for so long, that to find out that they’ve changed the chicken fingers, general’s chicken, and so many other items we’ve always loved, literally made my heart sink! The pork fried rice does not taste the same, and the BBQ boneless ribs are noticeably different as well! My intention is NOT to rip this place, or the new owners/staff apart here, as they do seem very nice. To be fair, and in my opinion, even with these very unfortunate changes, it is still somewhat better than many Chinese places in the area, (I’ve definitely had worse…MUCH worse!). Understand however, that if you have been a longtime fan of Peacock Chinese Restaurant, as our family has been for all of these years, it is no longer what it used to be!

What is going on??? Been going there for many years, last two times it's been terrible! Hot and Sour soup is neither, it's egg fun young gravy with very very little anything!! Gen Chows chicken was tiny crunchy orange looking things, couldn't find the chicken, just bad. Was our go to place..

Love their Hawaiian Wedding. It last us at least 2 meals each. It has everything my husband and I love in it. Only thing we add is pork fried rice

Steamed pork dumplings were big and had more liquid than competition. Love chicken teriyaki. These skewers' meat fell off of the stick! Lo mein was good. Mom's garlic shrimp was good but not the best I've had. Still a surprisingly good meal.

I live in Florida now but any time I visit Springfield it's a must go. New ownership so we found some of the portions smaller. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating.

So disappointed on this place their food used to be really good before covid hit. Now the rice is dry, I had to had duck sauce to it to make it better.
