Hunan Restaurant

Terrible disappointment. We got an appetizer quickly then waited 36 minutes to get one entree (Honey Chicken) that wasn't very good and wasn't what we ordered - I ordered General Tso's Chicken, and got overcooked beef. The attached picture is my "chicken" At least they removed the General Tso's Chicken from our bill. No apolog, though.

The Hunan Bowl is delicious, generously portioned and very reasonably priced. If you have some time and a big appetite, the all you can eat sushi is a tremendous experience, and a go-to of mine for years. The restaurant itself is impeccably clean, with a friendly and accommodating staff. One of the absolute best Asian dining establishments in central Illinois.

If you want good sushi and pleasant service, just go to Osaka's or Happy Sushi. I accidentally ordered sushi here online instead of Osaka's. Didn't have high hopes due to prior poor experiences, but already paid so just rolled with it. 6 rolls for about $70 is very reasonably priced, but the quality takes a hit. As per usual, rolls were small, light, and fried pieces tasted like burnt oil. The man behind the front desk was not friendly/ seemed bothered to have a customer and dismissive. Kinda sad. A few years before Hunan changed location, it used to be one of my favorite stops. Now it seems no one there takes pride in their work anymore.

I took my granddaughter to Springfield to visit a couple of museums and decided to stop in for lunch. I was very skeptical about trying a new place. I am very glad we did!! The food was amazing and the staff was very helpful and kind and. The food portions are good for the price you pay. I will be stopping there again if I am ever in Springfield

Yaaasssss! This place is on point. Decor is excellent. I came here with low expectations because I would get disappointed in the quality & flavor but the Chinese food here is so good, flavorful and made me feel like I was eating in Cali. 😍😍😍 My favorite joint and will be stopping by every time I'm in Springfield.
