Out here in Springfiled and tired of being in the motel and got a call from my friend to get out for the evening. I am so glad I said yes.
She and I weren't sure what to expect because the area leaves a little to be desired, but we were both pleasantly surprised as the restaurant exterior as well as interior. Felt like we were at home really.
I had EVERYTHING lol. I was comfort eating really, but oh well.
Time we walked in were greeted immediately and our host was friendly before he even seated us. He also spoke to us in Spanish which was refreshing! My friend speaks fluent Spanish and is Irish and I speak a little to moderate Spanish so I thought that was pretty cool that he didn't assume we just knew English.
We were brought salsa and chips and those chips were the BEST chips Ive had thus far. Crispy, fresh, not a lot of salt and just sooo good. I ordered the guacamole, bean dip with queso and the combination fajitas (steak,chicken, and shrimp) and my friend had vegetarian fajitas and queso. Very flavorful. Very!

Food was fantastic!!! Service was excellent! Had the "Mocajete" very large meal! My wife and I split it, and still brought home leftovers. Our waiter Juliano was very friendly, tentative, and efficient. Definitely going back!

We had several orders for take out for work recently and the whole process was fantastic! Super easy to call in our orders and the service was excellent! The food was amazing as well! El Maguey is definitely getting added to our dinner rotation!

My family went to El Maguey on a Wednesday. Margaritas were only $2.50 and the street taco platters were $2 off. Both were delicious! We each tried something different and we were all happy with the results. The chips were warm and obviously made in house. The salsa was the best I've had; slightly sweet with just the right amount of heat. Our server did an amazing job and was funny too. We loved the ambience and will be coming back often.

Quick and professional service. Fair prices with large portions. Sitting outside on a spring-like day makes the salsa taste even fresher. Authentic mexican flavors with a large menu. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The plating was perfect. Highly recommend! Can't wait to come back in the summer and enjoy a margarita on the patio.

Food was not that great. Didn't bring the leftovers home with me, which is a bad sign. The server seemed so distracted and uncaring. After he took our order and brought the food, never even looked at our table or checked on us. We waited for 10 minutes for the check, and was about to walk out before I finally had to stop some other server to ask for the check. Very, very disappointed in the food and the service. Will not be coming back. Not worth the time or money for subpar 'Mexican' food.
