Waited for a while to be seated. Waitress was super nice. My $11 burrito had what tasted like Campbell's chicken soup chicken and an entire can of refried beans. No sauce, no cheese, canned jalapenos, and a packet of sour cream. Salsa is similar to Pace picante. Not trying to be mean, but it was awful.

Mexican villa is a Springfield MO staple. The "burrito enchilada style" much like the "cashew chicken" was invented in Springfield and has been a very popular dish among Springfield residents and had been for nearly 50 years. There are several Mexican villa locations that all serve delicious Americanized Mexican food. The wait staff is always very nice and friendly and quick to take care of your needs. The hot sauce is also a Springfield treat that is crazy hot and delicious. I absolutely love it and once I begin eating I cannot stop. Get into Mexican villa and order yourself a burrito or sancho enchilada style..you won't be disappointed. And be careful..the top playe is always hot! Btw..all of you silly people saying "it's not authentic Mexican food" are moorons. They're not trying to be authentic. Everyone knows it's not authentic. Additionally..show me some authentic Mexican food anywhere around here..you're not going to. You’ll have to go much closer to Mexico to find that..it's not in Springfield I assure you.

This location on National still has the best Sancho Enchilada's out of all Springfield's locations.Tonight our server was Makayla and she did an excellent job serving our party of 8 along with a slew of other tables. I was with a few people that were a little disgruntled but I could tell she was doing her best so I wanted to come here and compliment her service! She got every person's order correct and it was absolutely delicious. Keep up the good work and thanks for serving us.😁

Yuck!! This place is so dirty and old. When you walk in you are hit with a strong smell that is like dirty carpet, old grease and dust. I was visiting from out of town staying at a hotel just a few minutes down National Ave, so I ordered the food to go. I wish I would have turned around and walked out when I saw how gross the place was inside. But because of the positive reviews I read before I came I was hoping the food would be good. I ordered the taco burger. The meat was cold like it was cooked hours ago and sitting in a holding pan. The bun was also cold and dry. I also ordered a cheese enchilada. I don't know where in the heck they get their cheese from but it tastes cheap and fake. It was just saucy, runny plastic flavored mess. I don't know how people can stand to eat at this place let alone give it a good review. If I could I would give 0 stars.

ROACHES IN THE JUKEBOX AT OUR TABLE. Not sure I need to say much more, but really guys?? Yes I know the Villa isn't meant to be fancy, but at least keep the roaches in the kitchen where I can't see them while I'm (trying) to eat? And the place in general was dirty. This jukebox hadn't been wiped down in years. Why 2 stars? Because I can't find this plate of swimmy, gooey enchiladas anywhere else.

Been dining here since the late 80's. Fantastic fare. Sancho enchilada style is my favorite. I also love their tacos. I live in TX and buy their hot sauces by the case now. JR

Nothing to rave about. Very crowded tiny dining area. Definitely not authentic Mexican. Tex-mex at best. The sweet “salsa” is more of a tomato sauce than salsa. Beans are rice were the only part of my meal that I enjoyed.

I like their enchilada style burrito, but that's about all. I'm all about chips and salsa, but I don't like theirs. Chips tend to be cold and unsalted. There are a couple of options for salsa, but they are a little sweet (the one they have that is supposed to be sweet, is really sweet). Just not my thing. Service leaves something to be desired as well.
