Silver Spoon Tea House

I decided to take my bestie out for her birthday since she said she had always wanted to experience a high tea affair. I saw on their Facebook that the lady who runs the tea house is retiring on the 16th so I knew I had to go as soon as possible. I did the Marie Antoinette service and couldn't have been more impressed. The food was exquisite and the dining experience was on another level. I am only sad I never came here before, and now they will be taken over by new ownership. I only hope the new tea house will be as good, but it will be hard to surpass the level of amazing detail and care that went into this service. My friend had the best birthday.

The tea house is gorgeous! Love the rooms and the decorations; puts new meaning to "it's the little touches that make the difference." The tea was fantastic. Had the Scottish, the Peace of Mind, and the last tea was recommended to us was a red tea; so if you are looking at the menu and don't have a clue they won't steer you wrong! Had a fabulous scone and delicious sandwiches - my personal favorite was the baguette with the spinach spread - yum! If you have four or more in your party I would recommend a reservation (or if you want the larger tea party), but they do have a place for walk-ins with a smaller menu if it is just you and your best friend!

I love this tea house and being a business owner myself it is obvious from reading some of the reviews that you can’t please everyone. I feel the owner goes out of her way to make people feel special and welcome. The food is far superior than some other tea houses I have been to and I love that you have more than the typical sandwiches and desserts. The decor is fabulous and to reiterate how friendly the owner is, she revealed her decorating secrets and chatted freely when she had time. Thank you for many great experiences at your tea house. I’ve been here several times for very special occasions including my birthday with my son 14 at the time who loved it, a Christmas gift for my daughter in law and a special time with my sister in law while she was visiting from South Carolina. All guests I brought have loved your place. Thanks again and I do hope your business continues to grow.

I had my Bridal Shower here, and it was wonderful! The owner was very nice, and helpful. We miss counted and had one extra and they were great about working with us. They were very nice and polite even after a member of our group was EXTREMELY rude to them and had to be asked to leave. The food was delicious. The selection of teas was great and the teas I got to try were some of the best I have had. The atmosphere was wonderful and fun. Thank you again for such a wonderful time!!!

This is a very fair and very honest review. 16 of us planned a very special Christmas tea and looked forward to it for months. It was a mother son tea. The boys dressed up in suits and tuxedos and were smashing along side their mothers dressed up for Christmas. I have been to many teas in town and out of town. The service was sorely lacking and the food was just OK at best. The food would have looked and tasted a lot better with a friendly face serving it. We had to ask for cream, which turned out to be milk instead - not even half and half. Then we had to ask for a refill because there wasn't enough for the whole table. The food was not plentiful and was way less than what I am used to at a tea. The girl waiting on us had absolutely no personality. She did not visit with ANY of the guests and did not smile and was not personable at all. She had no interaction between the mothers or the sons. I had to wait for *15 minutes at the register* to pay my bill while my other guests waited outside. Every other high Christmas tea I have been to in town is so special. They really go the extra mile in creating a special keepsake for each person in attendance. The rooms in the house were pretty. The absolute highlight was the guest carolers in the house. They were a joyful group of ladies that were so personable and lovely. I would recommend the Brambleberry Cottage and Tea Shoppe hands down over this one. The food is prettier, there is more of it, they are more personable and the experience is what you would expect it to be.
