Sonny's Bbq

Honestly this is like the place to go to not only enjoy yourself and who you're with, but to get great service and surprisingly your food is done so fast! I did time our food, two lunch meals and an appetizer. Done in a little over 5 minutes! The woman who served us was also the best waitress I've had in so many restaurants! There was just enough interaction. Not too much, and never bothered us if we were in the middle of conversations. I asked if I could have her name btw for this review, and I don't do long reviews like this, so if you go in there I'm just gonna tell you Danielle is a great waitress!

Great BBQ restaurant found while traveling. Loaded tots are delicious! Cole slaw is great and I consider myself a picky coleslaw eater. Smoked wings lack flavor, bland to my family. But the ribs were excellent! Chewy and delicious but not tough, beautiful pink smoke ring. Cornbread was also good. 4 sauce choices at the table. Would definitely recommend!!

Went for lunch today and honestly was excited to eat there. Ordered the BBQ cobb with chicken tenders. The onions were mushy and smelled so strong. Salad was a nice size but between the super wilted lettuce and the over powering smell of the onions, it was not enjoyable. No I did not say anything to the waitress. She already felt bad for our corn nuggets being overdone and hard. On the upside everyone else's food was ok.

Our waitress was fantastic. We ordered appetizers that came out quickly..it was corn fritters and they were soooo Good..powdered sugar to dip them in so warm an delicious. We ordered Ribs an Brisket for our meals ...everything was Great..Wonderful flavors everything hot. We had such a great experience here and can't wait to go back again.

UPDATE: The GM personally called me, sincerely listened to and addressed my problems and made things right. After speaking with her I'm giving the benefit of the doubt in that maybe it was just a perfect storm of poor circumstances. Inexperienced staff, slow service, took 20 minutes to tell us they were out of the two items we ordered. While waiting for a table we waited at the bar to order a beer but the person behind the counter came and went 3 times without acknowledging us. Reeks of poor training. The only reason it gets 2 stars is that they comped our appetizer when we decided to leave, so there is some sense of customer service in management, it just needs to trickle down to the staff. What sucks is that we've been to 3 different Sonny's and our first experience at a different location was PHENOMENAL. So we wanted to make it our go to place to eat after a long day's hike in this area of the state. Since then each visit to a different location has gotten progressively worse. This was the worst yet. This will likely be the last time we go to Sonny's regardless of location.

By far one of the best place to eat in Somerset....big portions, good prices! Everything on the menu is good...great sauces! Ice tea is probably the best around.one downside, I did hear the salad bar is gone for good. I love the atmosphere, big dining tables so you don't feel cramped and a few televisions to catch the game on. Staff is friendly and helpful.... We always take a big crowd with us, and orders are fast and correct! Try the sliced smoked turkey it is my favorite! It could use a few more dessert options. Plan on spending $35-$40 for 2 people.
