The Mayflower Chinese Restaurant

Maybe I’m biased because I grew up eating it, but their sesame chicken combo is perfection. Literally my favorite take on sesame chicken, pork fried rice, and even the egg roll. I’ve moved away but every time I’m in town I get it and it’s exactly what I try (and fail) to find in my local Chinese spots. Can’t speak to other dishes here because I only get this one thing (or their delivery service — I always just pick it up) , but I can recommend it at least!

This is our favorite Chinese place in our area. The food is delicious but a bit heavy on the fat and sugar. Because of this, it's definitely a meal we don't have too regularly. Delivery is usually pretty quick. The atmosphere inside the property is pretty poor and seems more like a storage closet than a small dine-in area.

I've written about this before and I'll say it again: There's a difference between take-out Chinese food and sit-down Chinese food. This place is GREAT for take-out. There are some places to sit inside but unless you live far away, I would suggest placing your order and getting it to go. I've only had two things on the menu and they are both fantastic. I highly recommend the General Tso's chicken with steamed rice or the boneless pork ribs (found in the apps section). The portions are plenty and the food has a great flavor.

The delivery was very fast (ordered off of Beyond Menu). The Crisby Beef was on point (a lot of places don't make it crispy enough), and we really enjoyed the General Tso's Chicken. The crab Rangoon could have been better, but because I don't expect a Chinese restaurant to have everything perfect, they won't lose a star. We look forward to ordering from them in the future.
