It just simply the best churros in the area! "Churros con chocolate' is the only Spanish word I care to learn on my whole entire trip to Spain. And I have had 4 meals of churros on my entire 6 days trip in Spain. I just can't get enough of it! After a few churros, I started to notice the difference in quality. And or of the all 4 churros I had El comercio really had the best. Churros con chocolate has two main element: the churros and the hot chocolate. Like most places in Sevilla, the churros are freshly made, so it's nice and steamy hot inside. I like how the churros are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside without too much dough, but yet not completely crunchy. It just had the right amount dough and crispiness. So it was just perfect. Secondly their hot chocolate: it is rich and just think enough for the churros to pick up all that heavenly dip. I like that the hot chocolate here has a nice cocoa taste, like it's not from the cheap hot chocolate mix. And it has a dark rich brown chocolate color. It's great to enjoy both visually and taste. I really enjoyed it. The down side of this place is that, it is actually a bar counter ordering. You squeezed in and tried to get a bar tender to place your order. There is zero chairs. So you have to just stand for the entire meal ( they also offer tapas and drinks, but as far as I see at the bar, it's all churros and nothing else). On the bar there are tables with low chairs, but it's just too crowded for that. As much as it is so crowded and busy, the ambience and the set up of the bar does allows me to fully submerged into the culture and be in this city. And it's just fun having hot chocolate at a bar and no one judges you. It's quaint, it's happening and it's exciting. I already miss this place and their churros! Tip*: even though it's crowded, order dine in to have the dine in experience (recommend by the bar). Rather then to pick up a paper box with a foam cup of chocolate. The fun it's part of being in the moment with all these people from all over the world and savoring your hot churros dipping in your hot chocolate.

Hands down best churros we experienced during our entire trip in Spain! First of all, churros in Andalusia are so much better than the ones elsewhere....and of all the places in southern Spain we tried, El Comercio was easily the best. Churros in places like the well-known Chocolatería San Ginés in Madrid are somewhat denser (more similar to what Americans are used to from our friendly neighbors down south in Mexico)....whereas churros in all the cafes we tried in Sevilla/Cordoba/Granada had a much more dough-y texture, which I absolutely loved. El Comercio exemplifies the pinnacle of churro making. It's essentially a freshly fried elongated beignet that you dip in a dense, rich chocolate. Seriously life-changing, and this will become the benchmark by which you will judge all future churros. This is a MUST stop for anyone coming through Sevilla. On the negative side, it will ruin any other churros for you once you leave here!

Asked a friend from Sevilla for her recommendation on a place to get churros and she right a way said, "El Comercio." And oh was she RIGHT about that!! We came in during the afternoon and things weren't too busy. Ordered 1 portion of churros and a chocolate (plus drinks). The churros are made fresh when you order them and are served pipping hot and the chocolate is poured when you order it as well. It was SO GOOD!!! If you're looking for the real deal, El Comercio is where you need to go!!

5/5 stars food, ambiance, service and overall experience. This little hole in the wall was one of my food highlights during my trip to Spain with my friend. I am not fluent in Spanish but I understand and can speak fairly conversationally, despite a bit of a language barrier the kind man who I was assuming was the owner helped me with my order and even gave me and my friend a complimentary montadito when some of our order was taking a little bit more time. The food here is extremely authentic and delicious. I went back to the bar to order around 4-5 different times because my friend and I wanted to try everything - ranging from chorizo montaditos to chocolate con churros to fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee. For seating, don't expect for someone to seat you and take your order. Order and pay at the bar and then find a seat nearby if available.

Came here around 5pm on a weekday in search of the best churros in Seville. Let's just say these did not disappoint. If you are in Seville do yourself a favor and stop by here for churros and hot chocolate. The churros are made fresh in front of your eyes, and have the perfect consistency being fluffy enough to dip into the chocolate for the best chocolate to church absorption. The restaurant itself has a great authentic vibe and I felt like the locals came here also. Will need to come back to try their tapas.

We decided to come here to try their churros for breakfast. However, they did not have it when we went on a Saturday morning. The person at the bar told us something about 5 o'clock. Unfortunately, we weren't really sure what he meant. This spot is full of locals, which is the perfect spot we were looking for. We ordered a few items of their chalkboard menus and sat at the bar. My bf and I enjoy people watching. A group of gentlemen came in and sat next to us. They ordered a few vermouth each (served with a piece of orange) and pounded them and left. We loved the morning vibes here! The staff speak limited English here but don't be shy to point or just pick random items like us! We ordered jamon, frites and huervo (fried eggs), jamon sandwich and of course espresso to jump start our morning!

My sister, somehow still not tired of churros and hot chocolate (3 days in a row!!), led us to this fine establishment. It was busy and packed!!! Wait a bit and eventually a table will open up- either way you will still have to order at the bar. The hot chocolate here, out of the 3 churros with hot chocolate places that we've been to (San Ginés in Madrid, Churrería Los Especiales in Seville and here), was the closest to an American hot chocolate, but was still distinctly not American. It was the sweetest of the three. The churros were less dense than the others, and we actually found ourselves with barely any leftover hot chocolate to enjoy by itself. Tea was kind of terrible (didn't taste like anything). Don't get tea. No idea about the other offerings but they looked tempting! If we were staying longer I'd definitely come back. 4/5

Bar El Comercio seems to be the favourite Breakfast place for my travel mates! They were here everyday while in Seville to grab a quick coffee and sandwich. I came with them once and I enjoyed the friendly staff and the local vibe. Though none of us speak Spanish but did not seem to have problem ordering our food. Ordered from the bar. Wait a little and the order will be ready for pick up at the bar counter. We paid when we were done. Coffee was strong and helped me get over my jet lag. Pressed Sandwich with jamon serrano was delicious. I have not tried the churros there but seems like a good place for those from all the photos and reviews! Maybe I should have that for breakfast instead?

This place must have made every country's list of good places to eat, so you see almost every nationality here, including locals. The churros are excellent (and I need to go back and downgrade all prior churro places I reviewed). Reasonable prices. Good selection of tapas, although most are sandwiches. Packed for breakfast. Busy, but not packed, for a late afternoon wine or vermut.

Believe everyone who said this is the best place for churros and chocolate! The churros were so light and with the perfect amount of dough and crunch. The chocolate was so smooth. We got there right when they opened and there were already people waiting. We also got a couple of jamon sandwiches. A must visit place!

Bar El Comercio, located in the heart of Seville, is like its own microcosm dedicated to the art of serving breakfast in the finest fashion - I thank God for whoever decided that jamon and cheese sandwiches, churros con chocolate, and cafe con leche is what should be eaten to welcome the morning sun. And honestly, I would even come for the show - the show of all of these waiters running the most efficient establishment I've seen before my eyes all within probably 128 sq feet behind the bar. It was absolutely astounding. We arrived around 10:30 AM, what we thought would be a lull, only to discover a jam packed location with only standing space! But with empty stomachs being our motivation, I decided we were going to get churros from this place, and took my short 5'2" self and elbowed my way (politely...) into the bar with my 2 other friends. One quick love note for the service - they were really generous and kind with us. The waiter we got was so lovely and had a ton of fun with us. I went to another establishment in Seville where our broken Spanish was made fun of - this waiter was really gracious with the fact that we tried. For english speakers, not to worry - they have an English menu. But they appreciate that you try! As soon as we gave him our order, he would yell across the bar in a booming sonorous voice, and instantly we got our coffee, orange juice, eggs and ham, churros and chocolate, and our jam and cheese sandwich. It was like magic. Also, I overheard that one lady forgot her wallet; she apologized profusely and promised to come back within ten minutes. The waiter was so kind and said "absolutely no problem". There is a kind of trust that isn't given in this day and age anymore in this small bar that is a sign of its integrity. The food...oh my gosh the food was amazing. Ham has reached a new standard for me. The sandwich was delicious, and had a light drizzle of olive oil on the bread that made me buy the olive oil on the spot. The orange juice is squeezed by a handy machine right in front of your eyes - the waiters load the top with oranges, and in a tube like fashion, one orange gets transported through the machine, gets sliced, and squeezed into liquid gold. The coffee was strong - just how I like it, but never bitter (cough cough Starbucks). And...the churros. Does the word churro mean "fried golden cloud made of dough" in Spanish? I sure hope so. They sort of reminded me of the chinese you tiao. And the chocolate was delicious - it wasn't bitter at all, but not overwhelmingly saccharine, and thin enough to drink after (regrettably) all our churros were gone. Seriously, do not leave this town without coming to this place. If I found it this entertaining during breakfast, I can only imagine how much fun there would be as a tapas bar. Do not be intimidated by the crowds - in fact, that should comfort you. You should have to fight for food that is worth fighting for. Well, don't fight. Just wait your turn.

Slightly late review but now after trying several different churro spots around Spain, this has been The best one we've had. Not only did the churros have a great texture to it, but the cup of chocolate was rich, had nice density and was delicious to the point we drank it all! Spot is popular amongst locals and people continuously come in and out. We came between lunch and dinner so they didn't have the full menu but we did also order a side of the cured ham which was also delicious. So glad we made a stop here in between our shopping. Add this to tour list of MUST GOs if in Seville!

Popped in for a really quick bite and a beverage with my husbae. Ordered a tapa of Jamon Iberico (which was a generous portion) that was absolutely delicious -- hand cut not too thick or too thin and washed it down with our dry sherries, that also came with some super yummy green olives. If you need a quick break in between shopping, highly recommend this spot as a place to take a break and rest your feet.

If you don't get breakfast here, you're doing yourself a disservice! Almost everyone orders the small sandwhiches (serranito which is meat with veggies) and coffee. Churros and hot chocolate are a necessity here! You will not be sorry

WHOA! Delicious churros to dip in their chocolate!! Always loved churros in California, and tried in a famous place in Madrid....but this blows my mind! BEST churros I've had anywhere! Not the typical skinny churro with decorative lines on the side. Think thicker with more fluff in the center and crispier coating, then dipped into a chocolate that seems lighter than some places with dark chocolate, yet darker than our milk chocolate. I'd call it semi-sweet chocolate if not for the different taste. Yummy without being overly sweet. My 1/2 order of churros is enough to share, and I'm a big eater! Great service -if you don't mind waiting a few minutes for them to catch up. The place is packed and they're doing their best to keep up with the demand. Sit at the bar and watch them hustle! ps, just came from Italy so the espresso wasn't up to standard, but I did notice them refilling the beans that were from Seville. Good enough to drink though for a little pick-me-up.

Bar El Comerico was one of the highly recommended spots in Sevilla, and so we made sure to stop by here for breakfast. Everything we got was excellent but the churros were outstanding. Light and airy with just the right amount of chew, dipped in the accompanying hot chocolate they are a small piece of heaven! The jamon sandwich was yummy as well, and the coffee was quite good. The pan con tomate was light and fresh but I personally found the olive oil taste a bit too strong for my liking. Do not leave Sevilla without stopping by here and having their churros!

Such a fun spot. We arrived to a packed house but found a way to the bar and settled into a little corner amongst the crowd. We ordered Iberian jamon sandwiches (for my bf and daughter) and churros and chocolate. Oh MY GOSH, what a food combo. Fried long hollow donuts dipped in thick gooey chocolate. Who would have thunk it? My bf LOVED his Cortado. Absolute perfection but the vibe makes it a win. Loud, crowded and super local.
