Ezell's Famous Chicken

Of all the locations, this one is the most consistent in cooking preparation. Both the chicken and the chicken tenders are fried to perfection without the chicken being dry. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned. The dipping sauces complement the chicken well. This is moreover a takeout place, no seatsareavailable. .

I‘m from Georgia and recently transplanted to Seattle. I am a total soul food snob and I was not expecting this place to be all that. However I gotta say this place exceeded all my expectations - breading on chicken is crispy, gravy well seasoned and the mashed potatoes are real good. I coulda skipped the yeast roll (too sweet for my palate) but that’s okay. Portions are large and food was hot. I couldn‘t believe they have chicken livers and okra on the menu. I will definitely be back to try those. Overall, five stars! See you next week!

This review is for the one on 45th in wallingford/u district. Ezells is always consistently great fried chicken sides and rolls. Got the 1 pound half (reg) & half (spicy) with sides. Chicken was hot fresh and moist as always. Ezells is the best chicken in seattle, easily. I ate at the location in Lake City which is owned by the original Ezell. This location and most others are the corporate owners that fired Ezell several years ago, he won the legal right to use his own name on new stores he opened after the fallout and firing. Sadly, he just doesn't compete well against the corporate run stores - those stores including this one are very well managed, clean, good service, good selection. This store has a great selection of fountain soda including some unique fun flavors from boutique soda brands... The best Mr. Ezell could do was a barely-cooled can of coke. smh.

My friend ordered me a meal from Ezell's that can appeal to any fried chicken lover. I had the spicy tenders with baked beans and fries, which were excellent. The tender was well-portioned with breading and meat, but I found the tender to be a smidge dry. Despite the minor blemish, the baked beans made up for it in a resounding fashion. The beans were cooked to the perfect consistency of not too soft nor too hard, and the sauce had a wonderful BBQ tang. The biscuits were also acceptable, as was the peach cobbler. Given that this was a takeout order, I was so impressed by the emphasis on their mains that I'm excited to come for a sit-down meal.

Came here for the for the first time in my life. I don't know why I didn't come earlier. I got the two piece with the roll and received my order in just about 1 minute after paying. The person at the register said as long as I don't order tenders or fries, it's usually instant. The breading on the chicken was crispy and the chicken was soo juicy. Now I know what Oprah was raving about. Lol cheers!

Well above average spicy chicken tenders, one was slightly dry, but that happens in any large volume food establishment. The roll wasn't my favorite, but that's because it was more of a sweet roll like a Hawaiian bread, many like it but that's a personal preference not a knock on Ezell's. I would absolutely go there again.
